Shocking listening back to this interview with Fine Gael and Sinn Fein. Neither party giving even an ounce of concern to the impact of these rules on vulnerable people in the system.. purely focused on competing for the best way to "strengthen the border" www.rte.ie/radio/radio1...
Government to tighten immigration rules
Nick Henderson, Chief Executive of the Irish Refugee Council; Matt Carthy, Sinn Féin spokesperson on Justice, Home Affairs and Migration; and Lorraine Clifford Lee, Fianna Fáil senator

Four months after it was promised, we finally have the government's transport investment plan between now and 2030. It's bad. Roads are in, public transport is out. A lot of public transport projects being put on the long-finger to make funding available for new roads.

Bringing in new rules with zero public scrutiny or engagement with affected people and advocacy groups is reckless.

The consequences of these decisions will be deeply damaging... and the government is relying heavily on media and public attention having moved on to get away with it..

Important and welcome that President Connolly's first public words since her inauguration are focused clearly on the climate challenge we collectively face.

So much depends on us making major progress to further bring down emissions in these crucial years.

“an absolute sham of an organisation”

We have to agree with @janetphorner.bsky.social's assessment of the Road Safety Authority. This has gone on far too long.

City and county councils making road safety decisions without RSA figures for last 7 years
Councillors complained that it is not possible to make evidence based policy decisions without the RSA data.

Darragh is a brilliant, hard-working Councillor who cares deeply for his community. Gobshites & foot-soldiers of English nationalism are attacking him for standing up for his community.

If you want more Darraghs & fewer Tommys in politics, then get involved, speak out & don't let the bastards win!

A quick update on litter and dumping issues in the inner city: janethorner.ie/post/litter-...
We're (far too slowly!) making progress towards:

Sarah Montgomery’s death is a devastating loss for her children, family, and friends - but it is not an isolated tragedy.

Since 2020, 26 women have been killed by men in NI, exposing an epidemic of male violence that shatters lives and terrorises women and girls.

I understand the GPO is an emotive site. But it is currently, and has been for over a century, a mix of post office, offices and retail (GPO arcade and Henry St shops are part of the site).

Mary Lou McDonald says plans to revamp GPO as mixed used 'cultural' hub is a 'betrayal of history'
Similar to how Temple Bar was revitalised, a special body is to be set up to drive improvements across the city.

European Greens are fighting for the suspension of EU-Israel Association Agreement. Add you voice here and call for an end to business as usual while people are being deliberately starved.
While children are starving, the Israeli government and military are blocking food and humanitarian aid.

It is the EU's moral duty to act - and we must suspend our association agreement with Israel.
