It was amazing to be a part of the CFP this past year, and I feel like it succeeded in so many ways both internally and for the community. What a great project and group of people!

I'll be sad not to be involved going forward, but wish everyone nothing but the best.

(Extended thoughts below)
Today, we are doing the Commander Format Panel member rotation I mentioned when the panel formed last year. Thanks to everybody on the panel for their work, and a warm welcome to @budgetcommander.bsky.social and @highermtg.bsky.social!

I have thoughts about this but most importantly I want to praise @scottlarabee.bsky.social, who is retiring from the leadership of the format he helped usher into the behemoth it is now. Scott was the unsung voice that helped stabilize commander and honestly just a wonderful dude. See you at the pt!

It's been an honour to be a part of the CFP for its inaugural year, and a member of the CAG for its full run before that. I wish everyone on it moving forward the best of luck and know that they'll do great things!

Well, fuck the EBU. Officially done with Eurovision.

More adventures in cooking.
What was last time a whitefish "pie" is now more of a tasty casserole.
Ingredients: pollock, butter, creme fraîche, cream cheese, fresh herbs (dill, parsley, cilantro, chives), spices, carrot, onion, leek, spinach, potato sticks, cheese mix.

So uh yeah, this is a card that exists and that is pretty cracked. (Also it triggers EACH postcombat main phase for you extra combat girlies out there.)

imagine having to hear shit like "study confirms giving diabetic children insulin reduces their death rates by 100%" as if that hasn't been known for like a hunred years. that's what being trans is like

Simian Saturday!
Good old ape snake is sadly a victim of not being very easy to use over spelltable, but I still love the card:

Feeling a bit low today from sickness and the general state of the world right. I'll be OK, but today is one of the days that feel so heavy.

Are you trans in the Magic the Gathering space? Are you creating, supporting, even just playing and having fun!?
Sound off. Celebrate yourself here. Find each other. We're stronger together.

Are you an ally? Boost us. Show support. Help us feel safer out here.

For a lot of people the charm of the format is building an iron man suit in a cave with a box of scraps.

A lot of the recent designs are more powerful, more popular, and the build paths are more obvious. It's not strictly bad but it does make things less appealing for the scrappers.

If one takes every released commander that's legal and printed in paper and sorts them by date of first printing, the midpoint in this set falls...

In the multicolored legends of Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate, which was only released in 2022.

I'm not sure how to feel about that, tbh.

I mean, it has to be Gisa. The deck is literally just "Play cheap powerful things, grind them into zombie tokens." The deck is utterly commander dependent, folds to two board wipes, and yet still wins an awful lot.

Ok. I'm a convert. I just finished watching the series, and Avatar is great. I never doubted that I would enjoy it, but it was always lower priority on the list of stuff to watch.
Do I regret not watching it sooner? Maybe, but it's helped me ignore this stupid cold for the last two days, at least.

Friends, I really enjoy being on podcasts and would love to be a part of one more regularly. (Also happy to guest on existing podcasts too!)

If anyone out there is looking for a cohost for an MtG/cmdr podcast (or has an idea for a new one), please hit me up.
