Just pinching some points from an old presentation on 18th century videogames which I made a couple years ago and found this collage - how many c18th games can you name? :)

Not what you expect to be searching for (and getting increasingly frustrated at the lack of good results), while researching a fun little essay about vampires:

Today I booked a day off to play games - 6 hours, that can make a dent in Silksong, complete an indie like 80 Days front to back, or be a springboard for sth like Legend of Heroes, which I've been wanting to get back into after dropping when my daughter was born in 2022.

Every negative review on Loser Named Hana I'm so glad I added the "I don't want woke content" option that just closes the game at the very beginning of the game to let the real losers know they aren't welcomed

And one other thing: we’re being told that AI is the only way to make games cheaper and faster, to pull us from this precipice of production nightmares the industry has found itself in. That it’s necessary.

We put out roughly 3 motherfucking games a year, not touching the stuff.
Skill issue.

We don't use generative AI at either Minor Key Games or Question. Partly on principle, and partly because we're really good at what we do.
We don’t use generative AI at Strange Scaffold and I can confirm that a *lot* of other studios are not—whether indie or AAA.

Get outta here with this normalization bullshit.

Just rewatching an old GMTK video about genre mash-ups, what is the strangest genre mash-up y'all are aware of? And are there any genres that are fundamentally irreconcilable? Curious to hear your thoughts #gamestudies

You may know Eizin Suzuki for being one of the big City Pop illustrators. If you've never seen his work directly, you have seen it referenced in anime. Cars and surf boards, lush love letters to a surreal, hyper saturated America..
