These guys seem to have forgotten what happens to those in power after energizing the mob with public murder.
A Palantir billionaire just called for public hangings.

“It's time to bring back masculine leadership to protect our most vulnerable,” writes Joe Lonsdale.

This is where Silicon Valley authoritarianism is heading:

As someone who's deep in the weeds with the incredible minutia of the "De-Specialized" Star Wars community (May The Force be with them).

It's going to be very funny when an incredible number of people see this new restoration and be disappointed because they are not children anymore.

As an adult, you have to romanticize your own life. Gotta make that magic.

Though I can say from experience that if you live in a festive place it's easier. My street in Queens strung up lights & decor over the road, the storefronts would be decked out, and holiday music everywhere...

That helps.
Because you're an adult you fucking muppet. You gotta pay the magic forward.

No-strings-attached, zero-means-testing, no-questions-asked cash payouts have been proven, over and over again, to be the most effective form of charity/aid going.

It gets people in housing, and it saves the state money. We know this. It's fact, not theory.
An Oregon pilot program giving cash to homeless youths sees a staggering reduction in homelessness. The program gave participants $1,000 cash payments each month for two years, and at the end of the project's first phase, 91% of participants reported being in stable housing.

Following the lead of @infinata.bsky.social, one of my favorite meta TFA things was a "prediction" of Episode VIII heavily featuring Unkar Plutt.

Super aggressive that since he was played by Simon Pegg & connected to Rey's parents, that he would be hugely important.

"We will see him again."

I still remember reading a review for The Fast and the Furious, pretty sure from The Charlotte Observer... but it might have been a more local paper, which complained that NYC doesn't have the room for street racers and that makes the movie ridiculous.

That person got paid for that.

Welp... I hate to say that stories shouldn't be retold, but Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein is the perfect cinematic adaptation of Mary Shelly's masterpiece.

Every attempt from here forward will be judged against this triumph.

Only cool adaptations with a twist from this point forward.

Breaking out your stringed instrument that you haven't played in years is a comedy of errors.

Shoulder rest rubber grips? Solidified and brittle.

Bridge? Foot disintegrated during tuning causing strings to snap down.

Sound Post? Knocked loose from string snap.

Time to take it to the pros.

John Goodman playing Frank King in Trumbo is *chef's kiss*.

Just a show stoppingly hilarious scene where he chews up the scenery, literally smashing it with a bat, while chewing out an MPA stooge.

Trumbo was a little cutty, but overall nicely made. Cranston deserved the Oscar nod.

Ugh!

I already thought it was crazy that Simple Truth Organic was cheaper than House Foods, but now it's a little bit smaller as well?

I don't know why I expect it to be different.

Every year NBC/Peacock says the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will be streaming starting at 8:30 in all time zones.

They have yet to do that. Completely botched.

I miss LoCast so much.

Just watched Damien Chazelle's Babylon.

There's an easy 30-45 minutes you can cut out.

Fantastic performances all around. Insane design choices. Incredibly expensive with the amount of background talent.

But the tone varies so widely, some of which works well, but feels messy by the end.
