Memory unlocked: After a day at the Hollywood PitchFest, my friends took me to a restaurant in Venice Beach? I forget. But it was modeled after a German style beer hall. The sausage and fries were the best I’ve ever had, but there was a DJ there for some reason, which should have been illegal.

People acting like James Bond dying in the last film is some giant hurdle for storytelling are exhausting. Bond continuity is amorphous at best. He’s an archetype like Sherlock Holmes and Dracula. You can do whatever as long as the main ingredients are in there.

Finally was able to see Frankenstein. I really liked it. It isn’t the book but somehow is the amalgam of *all* Frankensteins. Shades of Shelley, Whale, Hammer, Branagh. Wrightson and Grimly are in there. It reminded me of the Fisher-Price Marvel comic adaptation I was obsessed with as a kid.

I read Frankenstein a month before my son was born (unplanned). I think it should be required reading for all new parents as it teaches responsibility to and for one’s creations. 1/
