I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

They genuinely hate the idea of service.

really striking the degree to which not a single person working in the trump administration appears to be interested in serving the american people

Oooof.
I am glad I kind of pushed a kind of cultural curiosity at home on my kids. (It also makes me glad that college radio has a revival going on right now.)

I am not saying all songs must match a video's mood/content, but when you have certain kinds of content creators using certain songs because they are popular, I do wonder about about cultural literacy/curiosity.

sometimes I will notice some random song become very big for use with reels on instagram and videos on tiktok. Especially when the song is far away from the content, like Matt Berry's Take My Hand. Even more amusing/bewildering is the use of The Stranglers' "Golden Brown" a song about heroin.

even a bad movie with sam rockwell is a delight.

I love Sam Rockwell. The weirder the better.

I still miss my kid a lot. (what can I say, my kids are some of the best people I know. And I made them! I do good work.) BUT it does make me happy to hear that they are taking to this new life. It's a good way to venture into the paddling pool of adulthood.

When it came to figuring out accomodation they were initially upset/annoyed with what they were offered and had reservations about living among so many people. "I don't want to be that social." (They are now that social.)
I merely encouraged them to see how it went. (I won't say, "I told you so.")

One complaint, "having to do so much walking." (Which I get but they are a good sport about it.)

My oldest child has been in university a month. They told me, that the weather hasn't been that bad. They like cooking & shopping for themselves, finds the classes/lectures much more interesting than what was taught at sixth form & they enjoy essentially living next door to all of their friends.

Christ... I think of my relations who fought in the European theater. Going to war wasn't exactly their top choice for things to do in life, but they did it and they HATED the nazis. They saw what those fuckos did.

The review coming from inside the house is “that might be the best dessert I’ve had in awhile.”

So i subbed 1/2 tsp of cardamom, 1/2 tsp of powdered ginger for the missing cinnamon

I encourage everyone to watch Baby Boom. She is funny, and her character goes so many places.

Diane Keaton has sadly passed away at the age of 79.
