These systems of capitalism and colonialism are ANTI-life.
They oppose collective care and flourishing.
They are designed to profit the few by subjugating the masses and pillaging the earth.
They are built to keep us struggling for our individual and immediate families' survival, at others' expense.

No matter how hard people try to convince us that diversity is a weakness,

No matter how hard people try to convince us that love is limited,

The U.S. commits war crimes. Always has, always will.

You can’t unlink the Zero Units in Afghanistan under Bush and Obama from the assassinations of Venezuelans on boats under Trump.

And you can’t unlink either of these from the genocide of Native Americans or the enslavement of Black people.

“The United States has a deep inability to confront the reality that its national project depended on Indigenous elimination and exclusion. The Thanksgiving myth is used to try to smooth all that over.”
"I'm not against giving thanks."

"I'm against celebrating a falsehood instead of reckoning with the history Indigenous peoples have survived."

The Thanksgiving Myth Hides the US's Inability to Reckon With Its Own History

This is an insightful but deeply upsetting article about why everyone in the US feels poor, and why the current political situation emerges as a direct result.

Some vaccines like COVID and flu don’t stop completely stop infection.

But they do reduce the risk of getting infected and greatly reduce severe illness risk.

They are still worth getting.

Since they are not 100% effective it’s also wise to add another layer of protection by wearing a mask.

Abolishing ICE is only the beginning. Have you looked at your local cops?

..

According to mappingpoliceviolence.us, police kill at least three people per day; from a meta analysis published in NYT, we now know the number could be six or even more.

essentially every social program returns more to the economy than it costs, if it doesn't waste money on means-testing (which often costs more than the programs!)

and that's why there's no such thing as a "fiscal conservative"

they don't exist!
Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

The irreparable harm of Covid-19 cannot be diminished by denial and delusion. No matter how many foolish lies the masses choose to tell themselves, Covid-19 will continue to be a life-threatening danger to every human being.

Police contact of any kind is not innocuous: most police killings start with officers responding to a suspected non-violent situation or a case where no crime has been reported.

Covid-19. Bird flu. Et al. Now is a *really* good time to wear those respirator masks, my friends.

I think a lot about those who have died directly because of the carelessness, selfishness, and negligence of their fellow humans. Our species has not evolved enough. We have a LONG way to go.

It’s never too late to start masking again.

It can be daunting to mask back up when no one else is bothering, but your health is worth it.

Every Covid infection is a dice roll with disability, and a good respirator like an N95 stops chains of transmission.

You’ll also get less colds & flus!
