Good perspective for artists too. I’m not even sure how I’d go about trying to be remarkable in the current context of the comics industry. It is a relief in many ways that to know that nobody is watching to see if I do something cool.
I recently heard someone say the key to recovering from deep burnout is becoming comfortable with being unremarkable, which I think is really good advice for former academics coming from spaces where the primary currency is individual accolades within an interminable productivity arms race.

Just finished a cosmic exploration world fate and we cleaned up this cool rock, behind it is the tiniest loporrit I ever did see.

Sorry to delete my post, but the person who was doxxed by the sticker manu wants to not stir up anymore drama than necessary and is taking as many legal steps they can to address this person to hopefully get their information removed from their posts.

I was too tired to mention at all this weekend but I was anime impulse LA! Great time, my last sale of the day sunday went to ironmouse which I didn't know until after I sold the print. It was very neat!

However one thing that's become apparent is how many people aren't asking their neighboring artists if it's okay to film or even letting them know that they ARE filming.
That's an off-putting issue.

Honestly very glad that my only interaction with Xel ended with a free $60 umbrella and no real tangible comic hosting deal all those years ago.

On another note, as someone who helps manage a rather large artist alley server, there is some seriously heinous behavior out there and not everyone you meet will have your best interest at heart. Do not be fooled by people who glamorize the idea that you can become a bigshot if you listen to them.

I would say that i am mildly successful as a part time aa artist, otherwise I would not do it. Even so, there is a reason why I keep the day job and thats the health insurance and financial benefits. Nothing is more reassuring than a stable income.
Don’t know who needs to hear this but stop quitting your job to do artist alley and conventions, there are no benefits or health insurance and it is so unpredictable and the competition is worse than trying to get into Harvard lol
