This is definitely the behavior of organizations that know what a technology does for them and don’t just regard it as a Number Go Up spell.
My review was shit this year. We were instructed to identify three things in SecOps we could implement with AI and I said we didn't need AI, we need to focus on automation and better workflow processes to streamline identification and reduce admin work. I was told I was not advancing my career.

Part of the issue is a bedrock refusal to accept the fact the people who wanted to defund the police were correct and political elites refused to address their claims. They want to make that a grassroots rather than elite failure which is why they point to Pelosi/Clinton/Biden as representative.
