"[T]he District Court failed to draw a dispositive or near-dispositive adverse inference against respondents even though they did not produce a viable alternative map that met the State’s avowedly partisan goals."

WHAT?!
Here's the full Supreme Court ruling that allows Texas's racial gerrymander, from which I took the excerpted screenshot above:

This is an extremely troubling answer from someone who served two combat deployments and went to Harvard Law School.

The best case scenario is that he's a sitting Senator and committee chair who's chosen to lie publicly about a double homicide to protect his homies for a fleeting moment.
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), to reporters, after viewing video footage of the U.S. strikes on alleged drug boats in the Caribbean on Sept. 2:

"Righteous strikes." "Entirely lawful."

"Their own companies, with their own money"

Oh, sorry, I didn't realize The Heritage Foundation was a sole proprietorship. Will Mr. Heritage be paying taxes the next time revenue exceeds expenses or is it suddenly not his company in that case?
Chris Rufo—a prominent anti-DEI crusader—-says the “idea that private companies should be able to prioritize hiring married men w/ families is completely within the bounds of rzbl debate, &…it's absurd that individuals cannot hire whomever they want [ie, discriminate] in their own companies…” 1/

So I have a slight concern that the leaders of a multi-billion dollar operation in round whatever of raising private capital with no moat whatsoever don't understand the business they're in or what the words "tradeable asset" mean.
The co-founder of Kalshi says: " The long-term vision is to financialize everything and create a tradable asset out of any difference in opinion."

Every dang time. I guess at least Cokie McMullett is upfront about it.

Willing to trade every person in this clip and millions in agricultural aid for an equal number of randomly selected Somali familes. Would televise the lottery and enhange when we land the plane in Mogadishu.
Trump, continued: "What the Somalian people have done to Minnesota is not even believable. It’s not even believable. And a lot of it starts with the governor. A lot of it starts with Barack HUSSEIN Obama, because that’s when people started coming in... They want to kiss our country good night."

He's actually not wrong in that salaries are down dramatically relative to what reps were paid in prior eras. If you want to actually pass a stock ban (which we should do), it should be paired with setting salaries to what they were at least in the 90s coupled with a built-in annual COLA.
Rep. Roger Williams defends members of Congress trading stocks: "I think we gotta be careful that we don't limit Congresspeople to where they can do nothing ... from a financial standpoint, it's not easy being up in Congress."

Anti-carceral but would briefly jail the person who started the trend of popups on every news site asking to disable ad blockers in exchange for viewing one (1) article from a Google link.

See, kids, immigrants from places like China, India, Brazil, or Nigeria just can't embrace this type of stupid, obnoxious behavior as well as privileged white women:

What's the strategy here if you're an associate in this firm? Throw the lawyer firmly under the bus, or timely get yourself hospitalized?
Ok #lawsky, the hearing on OC's motion to be relieved in this case was conducted today. Want to know how it went? Immediately afterwards, the Court sent EVERY ATTORNEY IN OC'S FIRM an email ordering them to be in court for a sanctions hearing in 2 weeks. Transcript will be posted as soon as I get it
Opposing counsel just submitted an application to the court to adjourn the trial tomorrow and didn't cc me on it and said it was OK because I wouldn't be prejudiced and didn't tell the court that I'd already submitted opposition to his formal request and the court adjourned it???

Even were this Constitutional (lol, no), there's one simple trick that could nuke it and it's any country on the planet gifting some Senators and Supreme Court justices citizenship with no procedural mechanism to renounce it.
Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, just introduced a bill to ban Americans from holding dual citizenship. The bill says that to “preserve the integrity of national citizenship, allegiance to the United States must be undivided.” It’s called the Exclusive Citizenship Act.

This gets the lawyer answer of "it depends," and in my opinion, it depends on how much overlap exists between the ranter's Facebook friends and the life of the person walking to the synagogue.
OK, internet, from a pretty awesome discussion with someone who has a different view than me, have a question. Is the following hypothetical bullying:

Someone on my block rants to his Facebook friends every Saturday about how he hates seeing the damn kike walking to synagogue

I'm the wrong kind of doctor to say this with any definitiveness, but no one's getting chest and abdominal MRIs for fun.

This is basically a 70s Republican platform. Compare, for example, Gerald Ford's policy preferences, which are arguably more liberal:

I realize it's AI slop, but is it too much to ask that the appropriated childrens' book characters being used in Dept of Defense propaganda at least attempt to make sense?

Why would you put a turtle in a helicopter to shoot at boats on a river? Turtles have camoflage and swim. Drop him downstream!
Because I don’t want to be taken away by the Secret Service, I cannot express properly what I think should befall the defense secretary.

AI helped drive a 10% year-over-year increase in Black Friday sales, sort of like how I helped the Bears win on Friday by draining the rest of a bottle of Scotch.

Although U.S. consumers spent more this Black Friday compared to last year, price increases hampered online demand, according to Salesforce.

"But your ad says, 'Strong Floor, No Ceiling.'"

"Oh, they got this all screwed up."

Edits copy to 'Strong floor? No. Ceiling!'
No value, no villain, no vision. Sounds like the tagline for the earnings call of a collapsing appliance retailer

This jackass sociopath needs to spend the rest of his life in a prison somewhere and I really hope the next administration understands that.
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.

how can you people not see such an obvious thing?

Imagine awakening on the eve of an American holiday and bringing a motte-bailey fallacy defending AI to Bluesky of all places. I have no idea what Flask is, but son, you just showed up to the wrong saloon on the wrong day with a butterknife. These folks have liberal arts degrees and idle time.
Wow 80% bad-faith responses, and people lecturing the creator of Flask here and the creator of Django/datasette in the comments on why AI is useless for software engineering...
Is this platform still massively against AI or has it moved more towards acceptance?
