I think I only ever did this holiday because I was curious what the deal was, similar to going with friends to their church and eating afterwards.

It's how I discovered that wonderful, fresh fruit cobbler while in Iowa, which I heard is different from a buckle or other variations.

If you're looking to help this season, check out the River Valley Adult Learning Alliance here in rural Arkansas. They offer biliteracy programming to expand access to the GED, CDL certification, citizenship tests, etc. while diverting people away from extremist movements.

Fuck. Freezer door is not staying closed, and they have to replace the whole door, which they said is expensive. So either a new fridge or repair.

The patriarchy: *spreads the belief that men cannot suffer from sexual assault, guilts and shames men who express pain, hurt, or vulnerability from being attacked*

Millie here: "I know what we should do! Let's act like the patriarchy and continue furthering those toxic ideas!"
This is the way. We’ve been forced to hold space and “keep sweet” and it fuels their entitlement. We need to match energy. Roll up and dismiss every complaint they have.
Refuse to believe their SA accusations. Tell them they did something to cause it. Only help women at work.

Here's a question I am mulling over. Should I step down from a computer science board because they are all in on "Ai"?

I wrote this on our board chat. It will give me data once I get some responses.

Agh finally, done scanning 100-ish pages of legal docs. Avoided it for an entire month, and of course it feels good to be done. Coulda just skipped the avoidance.

I do think optics was everything again. Hochul had the disastrous photo of her appearing to rush out of being photographed with Trump. I don't even think that was true, but it's what played.
the most likely result of anything that happens is nothing. if you are worried that zohran found common ground with trump or thrilled that trump is going to "help" you should turn off your phone.

but if you are in line to tell a show tunes joke or post a meme of marx with laser eyes, stay in line.

I'm kind of fighty today. Thinking I need to read less upsetting stuff and look at Caturday cuties.

I covered a big auto repair for a bestie. They offered work trade, but it's not a loan and feels wrong.

But they bake for fun! I'm paying for ingredients and am getting Italian almond crescents and Pistachio bundt cake.

I can't find these anywhere in Portland. I'm so excited.

We look to be on a disaster course in Oregon regarding STEAM. Pressure from industry is for 2 areas, computer chip manufacturing and "Ai."

These fuckers are upending the entire K-12 STEAM system on some fucking hype looking for institutional consumers.

Google has started automatically opting you in to let it read your stuff to train AI. You need to turn this off in SEVERAL places in your settings (not just for Gmail), if you want to maintain privacy and confidentiality.

Wtf is going on?
A reporter asks if Mamdani stands by calling Trump a fascist. Mamdani starts to give a delicate answer.

Trump (smiles, pats Mamdani's arm): "That's OK, you can just say yes. It's easier. I don't mind."

MAGA Erin Hartford got trounced in the election.

The winner has encouraging messages on her social media, uplifting to teachers and students. Hartford, on the other hand, is a constant barrage of punching down, criticizing, and MAGA Christian Nationalist propaganda. Glad the voters saw it.

This has me boggled. I did think, wait why is he meeting with Trump?
The thing that's always frustrated the right wing ideologues who've glommed onto Trump is that he doesn't have the attention span to actually be a committed ideological warrior. He can scream all the right culture war shit, but it's just WWE pugilistic showmanship. He basically has no belief system.
Trump frickin' loves this guy lmao

If you grew up with raising your voice or yelling in your family, was that good for you?

Has it helped you? Or did it cause problems?
