The calming cardboard folding and taping moment I needed in this *gestures to the world*

The kiddo wanted a dragon mask to add to her Halloween costume this year. I found a template and started assembling.

Some fun mathematical thinking went into this build.

Would you pay for a service where I look at your upcoming conference slides and give them a glow up?

If you'd like to watch two amazing people build some cool graphs in Desmos and learn a thing or two (probably more) along the way. Here ya go.
Graph Time with Sara and Sean is here!

On today's episode we try to recreate the vibe of one of the first graphs that ever inspired Sean in Desmos. Watch us play with math and maybe learn a thing or two about graphing along the way!

Hot writing tip!

It is very common, in a piece of writing that has any length at all, to know what a part of the writing needs to do without also knowing how you want to write it.

I’m not on here much these days.

But it felt like a good time to pop in and say: it’s double poke season y’all. Flu +Covid 💉💉

You can schedule your shots now in a lot of states. They didn’t ask about pre-existing conditions (tho I do have them).

In and out in under 10 mins.

I had some time today to download and try my hand at a few of the Bloom class of origami folds.

They were a lot of fun, data set with select crease patterns available here scholarsarchive.byu.edu/data/85/

LFG. Get louder, folks. School funding is so overwhelmingly supported that it might just be the issue that helps Senators and Representatives finally find their, um, courage.
New: Ten Republican senators wrote to the Trump admin. today urging the restoration of $6.8 billion for education Trump impounded earlier this month.

Cutting federal education funding with no notice runs counter to "returning education to the states," senators say. www.edweek.org/policy-polit...

What Annie said.

Call your reps. Did it on my way to get the kiddo from summer camp today.

Money being withheld by federal administration for:

North Carolina: $185.8 million
My county: $5.8 million
Education Week has a tool so you can look up exactly how much education money is being withheld by the Trump admin.

In Minnesota? $74,106,362
In Minneapolis Public Schools? $4,510,000

Call your reps, yell at the white house.

Do not go around barriers or attempt to drive through flooded roads.

It’s okay to be sad right now guys fuck stop telling ppl not to despair and get back to work, this is why so many ppl are in a state of apathy and dissociation cuz they don’t even have space from movement leaders to feel how they feel

Probably 1/3 of my time as a Peace Corps community health volunteer was facilitating learning sessions on vaccines & traveling with heath teams on vaccine tours. We’d walk hours to the most remote parts of our community to bring 💉 to the community and provide other health services and bring supplies
This is a travesty & a nightmare. The US was a founder of @gavi.org. It lowers global vaccine costs, has vaccinated 1B children, & averted 19M deaths. This pull out will cost 100s of thousands of children's lives a year - and RFK Jr will be personally responsible.
