Oregon's Attorney General and Portland area DAs just told the feds they'll prosecute excessive force by federal agents in the state—citing evidence from the trial that shut down Trump's National Guard plan for Portland.
Oregon to Feds: Rein in Your Officers or We'll Prosecute
Prosecutors in Oregon are warning the US justice department to rein in federal agents who’ve repeatedly used excessive force on protesters, immigrants and even local police. A joint letter from Oregon...

Using the threat of calling immigration officials on workers as a form of intimidation and control is an egregious form of retaliation that has long been used by unscrupulous employers. Oregon law protects these workers.

“I hate Medicaid. It’s just handouts for welfare queens. But I love [my state’s Medicaid plan]. It provides exactly what hard working people like me deserve while I am doing my best to provide for my family and get ahead in this tough economy.”
one does wonder how many low info trump voters are about to be extremely shocked that their strategically named state medicaid coverage is about to be taken from them, because it’s definitely not zero

I say a lot of things are “unbelievable” that are probably not actually unbelievable. But finishing this legislative session without any transportation bill whatsoever, after preparing for it as the top priority long before the session started, that *is* unbelievable.
The House is waiting for the clerk to prepare the sine die resolution, Speaker Julie Fahey says. Looks like we're ending soon. #orleg

Republicans are not interested in governing. This has been obvious for a long time. And yet, Dems compromise and compromise (enraging their own voters and constituents) only to get the finger in the end. We need new tactics. New reps. A new party. New everything. New anything.

When we won a supermajority in the legislature, I thought we might use that to show the country what we can do when we have power. I feel deeply disappointed about the state of Oregon politics right now. Underfunding education, attacking preschool for all, and neglect transportation. What’s next?
Well, folks, there is a bill called HB 3402 that has two supporters: Governor Kotek & ODOT.

In opposition:
-aviation
-transit
-cities
-counties
-active transpo / safe streets
-electric vehicles
-climate & enviro justice

It's a betrayal. Progress will be lost. Jobs will be lost. Lives will be lost.

In all the coverage of P4A since its implementation, I’ve been surprised to see very little about the families who benefit from the program. Now, they’re speaking out (along with county commissioners and other advocates).

I wont lie I was initially worried (possibly just biased for Evander) but after digging into Costa more today I am moved.

His face value advanced numbers are iffy, but he also has had little playtime. His ball progression is impressive and he is rapid. He will cook #RCTID

I am so happy that we got to watch Evander. I am happy that the Timbers didn’t sit on their hands as has been customary. I’m excited for what I believe will be a new identity, higher, more pressure, more cohesive football from back to front. Onward Rose City. #rctid

I was very disappointed to learn that the City had made the administrative decision to issue the statement of compatibility for this project. While I understand why the decision was not brought to the City Council as a matter of procedure, I believe that this was a missed opportunity for leadership.
