To put it another way: Courageous jurists on the lower courts have held back Trump from inflicting even more damage on civil rights and liberties. This timeline sucks, but the one in which the judiciary doesn't even try to push back is FAR worse. We insult these judges when we dismiss their impact.
I’m done with this shit. This isn’t a game. And if you don’t realize that the work of Judges Xinis and Boasberg and Ellis has been an essential part of forcing this administration to account for its actions, you’re not a serious person.

Imagine if Citizens United had reached the court where the plaintiff was a labor union. Would we have the right railing against a decision that “unions have rights” while the left is saying “people don’t give up their rights merely by associating with one another.”
This guy argues corporations have greater speech rights than human beings. Dark money is speech but you or I voicing our opinions is not and should not be protected.

Reminder - the balancing test allowed under Schenck is dead law and was replaced with Brandenburg. Trump does it have the right to regulate speech that he deems dangerous to national security.
Americans let Republicans changed A2 out of the blue and everyone bowed but won't apply a long used balancing test to A1 to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine. It's like they're begging for Trump nazism.

I am not a lawyer.
But being a long-time listener, I can totally see this.
The wheels of justice truly grind slowly.
For a reason. So that they get it right.
That they are moving this fast is just incredible.

I get the impulse to push for more, harder, faster, but it's worth noting here: the lawyers for both the state and various other plaintiffs have been working their asses off at absolute breakneck speed today.

Nonviolence is, in fact, working. This administration is weaker than it was a year ago. More and more of the public is becoming galvanized against it; its agents are being impeded.
Do you honestly think people in the civil rights movement and other nonviolent movements faced no violence themselves? They practiced nonviolence because it works, because the oppressor wants a shooting war, which is the war it will win

Nonviolence is, in fact, working. This administration is weaker than it was a year ago. More and more of the public is becoming galvanized against it; its agents are being impeded.
So, I asked my kids to tell me anytime they note something different about TikTok since the acquisition. They mentioned videos about the ICE shooting are hard to find. They found one with 5000 views, but they said normally it would be viral by now.
