New Leger poll!

And it turns out the biggest loser in the teachers strike is the UCP!

What are the big takeaways?

- 47% of Albertans opposed the government tabling legislation to force teachers back to work, of that 35% strongly opposed it.

Hi Bluesky 👋

Small life update: I’m at the centre of a multimillion dollar lawsuit in Alberta launched by a failed candidate for Jason Kenney’s UCP

It may be the longest and most expensive media trial in Canadian history

I’m ready to go public about it and I want to share more details with you 🧵

Have you heard of “The Populist Playbook?”

A few years ago, I posted what I still consider one of my most important messages.

It was about “The Populist Playbook” that I’ve watched play out often over my 33+ years of city planning.

Since then, it’s only gotten worse.

Do the steps sound familiar?

Today, The New York Times has published a story eviscerating Danielle Smith and her provincial government's response to the measles crisis in Alberta.

Interestingly, Deena Hinshaw is interviewed for what appears to be the first time since she was fired.

On Nov. 5, 1939, the National Research Council began to broadcast the Time Signal.
The signal was broadcast every day for the next 84 years, technically making it the one of the longest-running radio segments in Canadian history.
This is the story of the Time Signal.

Today Elections Alberta requested $13.5 million to be able to administer recalls and referendum.

The UCP committee in charge revised their request to just over $1 million.

And then voted it through.

The UCP just defunded recall/referendum.

🇨🇦 CRACKS FORM FOR ALBERTA'S UCP 🇨🇦

In a sharp new column, Don Braid argues that "knobs are starting to fall off" the #UCP government.

He details a series of escalating "incidents and irritants" that suggest, halfway through its second term, the government's lustre is fading.

"The kids need to go back to class."

I agree.

That doesn't mean the premier should've done an endrun around the legislature and the courts.

If the back-to-work law was defensible, why didn't she defend it before leaving the country?
