Hotel prices in Auckland are a rip off. $279 a night to be same to hear people talking a piss in the room next to me. Thanks high season, and Metallica and Tool concert week.

Having just driven Northland to Auckland out of necessity, do not recommend. Weather is crap out there. I hope our homeless have somewhere dry to go to tonight.

Two weeks on HRT, and it’s night and day to what I felt like beforehand. Beginning to handle life like a functioning person, and I’m enjoying the gym for the first time in years.

Fucking fireworks. Again.

Whomp whomp. Well that’s me done for the night. May as well go to bed. But first I need to make sure we don’t have any light switches turned on anywhere.

Annnnnnd it’s another night of fireworks.

Might have to do a round trip to Whangarei to get dinner 😆

Second time in under a week that our power has dropped out on a sunny day. How good is our infrastructure in Northland?!
November 6, 2025 at 4:22 AM
Fucking fireworks. People were letting them off over our house. Dogs are hiding in the house, and the cricket is up loud to help drown out the noise outside.

This is why you don’t privatise water. Kāeo has had issues for years, and despite assuring the council they are resolving issues, they only seem to be getting worse.

How’s your day going? Mine is processing refunds for a client’s customers because our PHP devs didn’t fix the code properly last month. And I showed them last week there was still an issue, and made it clear I didn’t want to see this problem today.

I hope my Menodoctors appt is worth it on Friday, because I’m sick of of only feeling good for about four days every month 😑

Hurricane Melissa is setting itself up to cause widespread damage in Jamaica over the coming days, with up to 40 inches of rain forecasted, followed by the possibility of a Category 4 or 5 landfall.

An awful outlook at the moment.

My son’s teacher spent 12 hours last weekend rewriting a proposal for an end of year camp, part of which included 3 classrooms. It was denied. Now they expect her to spend her long weekend writing a modified proposal before an “emergency” meeting on Tuesday.
And assholes say teachers have it easy

The weather has hit Invers. My friend sent me a video of the trees being blown around in the yard. Judging by the mumbling of concern about their trampoline, even though it was already well secured (and is even more so since the vid), it’s safe to say they haven’t seen anything like this before.

One of the hottest towns in Aussie is forecast to hit 45C this week, which it normally doesn’t do until summer. Sydney is also well over its average temp for October.

Why that annoys me - young lean fit women doing an ad, talking about their leggings holding everything in, and they literally have nothing that needs to be held in. Give me a bigger body for real proof your leggings work and don’t roll down at the top 😒
