Something similar is happening in Florida right now and it really makes it hard to keep a course current with recent articles and developments, even in something as benign as computer science.
TX Tech has a flow chat for guidance on what can be taught in the university system. Two things:
1. Very little content seems to be permitted. This is partisan control of the curriculum.
2. I would not enjoy teaching under these conditions, but I really would not want to be a Chair or Dean.

So my husband and I discussed over dinner why so many people thought that the OP from my Facebook group was a woman. Was it the naming of the car? plenty of men name their cars. Was it the twenty-minute shower? After some discussion, my husband figured it out:

I have nothing but admiration for the Wikipedia editors who managed to make a coherent article out of the whole Skibidi thing.

Russian women were early to feminism. Now, though, their vision of liberation can look strangely like the domestic trap they were supposed to escape.

Before attending negotiations, all the US and EU participants should attend a midnight screening of the just-released documentary “Sisu: Road to Revenge”

Russia promises not to attack any EU country. It also claims that it never attacked Ukraine. It claims that it never attacked anyone, only ever defended itself. Warsaw and Vladivostok just happened to become parts of a Russian empire defending itself.

While CNN is re-airing a documentary about Live Aid with Phil Collins playing concerts in London and Philadelphia on the same day, Lil Jon has done the contemporary, Gen X equivalent by performing today at the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in NYC and TNF in Baltimore.

(Acela? Town car? Tour bus?)
If I had a nickel for every time Lil Jon performed Turn Down For What on NBC, *TODAY*, I’d have two nickels.

Which feels like two nickels too many… but also too few.

Downside: There is no plan and no courage. No attempt to sort the tax system. No strategy for the economy, like the one @johnspringford.bsky.social suggests here getting-out-of-the-hole.uk. Even good policies, like mansion tax, simply fiddle for pennies instead of properly reforming property tax.

Plus sides to today: Two-child benefit scrapped. Largely progressive tax implications. Good market reaction. No big spending cuts. Nightmare prospect of cutting funding to net zero etc avoided. It's a left-wing budget. Those who say there's no difference between Labour and Tories are bananas.
