The whole story of #lfc 25/26 has been how long it takes new players to acclimatise to a new team/league/country. Just like parenting, there are no rules for this kind of thing, it takes as long it takes for each individual.
Milos Kerkez great tonight. And has been for some time. Just needed time to adapt to new club, patience given poor form of team he was coming into and for Slot to stop inverting and letting him play his natural game. All coming together now. And just wait until Gakpo starts regularly passing to him.

🇭🇺 Another outstanding performance by Milos Kerkez:

- 2 fouls won

Getting better and better 👏

FT 3-0. Few enjoyable evenings this season so you take one when it arrives. Superb team goal finished with a satisfying drive from Dom. Mo needed something from tonight to go with his general performance. Caps a good response to the City outcome last Sunday.

Tough to be certain given the players who fill in at full-back but *I think* the last one is Tsimikas to Trent for the winner in the 4-3 against Fulham in 2023.
Last fullback to fullback goal for us @andrewbeasleyfootball.com?

My guess would be against RB Salzburg, Trent to Robbo?

HT 1-0. Brighton with early possession but nothing to show for it. We've looked kind of sprightly on the counter but without the precision of old...until Milos' ball for Jones to finish. Still in the balance.

And Ox scores the late winner for Celtic as well. Lovely stuff.

Endo is so damn likeable. May not have the pace, may get turned easily, but he gives every ounce of effort to make the most of the time he has on the pitch. It's a level of commitment we've missed most of this season. Gutted for him if that injury ends his season.

🇫🇷 Credit to Ibrahima Konate he handled Brian Brobbey brilliantly tonight.

- 100% ground duels won (3/3)
- 5/6 aerial duels won
- 4 clearances
- 2 tackles won
- 2 interceptions

So many key interventions throughout the game.

Played a key role to get a much needed clean sheet.

Sunderland were unbeaten in 12 home Premier League games before tonight.

That's the longest unbeaten home run Liverpool have ended in the Premier League since February 2023 when they beat Newcastle, who were also unbeaten in 12. #LFC

Now if only we were neutral in both comps instead of +8 / -8 we'd be above villa and on the fringe of the title race AND finishing CL top 8.
I've rarely seen variance as extreme across comps in the same season

FT 0-1. The guts we've missed all season.

HT 0-0. Not bad, should be two up at least. Oh to have a functioning left wing who can make the most of having almost all the play.

Also, a minute added on after all their time-wasting already. Kavanaugh playing to type.

FT 1-2. Throwing that free kick away is criminal. The minute we sat back, what occurred next was inevitable. Even by our standards, there's too much emotional whiplash this season.

Shout for Kerkez's tenacity early on by the way. Both the bight before Haaland's touch and to bully him off the ball to clear. Goal-saving intervention.

HT 0-0. Lot of discussion in the build up about slowing it down versus embracing the chaos. I think you can feel that tension between the two in that first half performance. If we fully commit to the latter, we give City far more of a fight than we have done. It's taking the risk to get the reward.
