A new hospital opened in Kenner, LA (outside of NOLA), back in the '85. I used to work in the mailroom there, and at some point, it became Kenner Regional Hospital before it was bought by Ochsner Health System in 2006.

Also, when's the last time anyone heard of a new hospital opening??? Like, I don't think I've ever heard of it in my 50+ years. The privatization of healthcare in this shithole country has been so detrimental. And it absofuckinglutely never brought down costs (as nothing privatized ever has).

PE has been taking over some of your favorite companies for years. They sell off assets, strip the business bare, and when there’s nothing left, it collapses.

Doesn't even require P.E., just orgs like Steward. "No, there won't be any layoffs." 2 years later - medical center reduced to emergency dept only. 3 more years - all gone. For a city of a 100k. Yes, Boston is near, but, it's fucked up.

This isn't that old and definitely isn't the photo I was originally seeking (it isn't even from my phone, it's from my /home), and, it's not that old, but, Ella was like "'Sup?"

Mostly white calico (all white belly) halfway on her left side and halfway on her back, her shoulders and head swung around as if on her back, casually looking toward human. There is a blue turboscratcher above her, against which she has her hind paws. There is much cat hair on the carpet, as that turboscratcher has been "home base" for her requesting attention/pets since we first got it, one month after we got her, almost 5 years ago.
