Has anyone heard about PBOT wanting to install a diverter on NE 7th & Hancock? I saw a neighbor complain about it but didn't find info on the city website

NEW: I took a long look at the Proud Boys and found some of their most extreme chapters are sharing ICE recruiting materials on encrypted apps and even suggesting members have joined up. talkingpointsmemo.com/news/in-the-...

Task Force
Trump already gave so many of us jobs with ICE. We may have to start recruiting soon to fill all these spots.

Bike ride coming through is huge! Ha!

All this tension building because a group ride takes longer than expected (which is how it always goes)

It’s a weird, scary, fun, tense protest party at the ICE building in Portland, waiting for the naked ride to come through. My favorite activity is spot-the-chud

Massive escalation at the Portland ICE facility. Worst I’ve ever seen. More pepper balls than I can count. Teargas in the middle of crowd. Violent arrests. Some type of either noise or rubber bullet shotgun fired into the air then later aimed at protesters chests/heads at near point blank range.

When he says he wants to “build a city where trans New Yorkers are cherished”

Not sure I’ve ever teared up from a political ad before. This is beautiful

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

The NYTimes wisely hired Anna Griffin, one of the best journalists in Portland, as the head of its Pacific Northwest Bureau
President Trump continued to describe Portland, Ore., as a city on fire Friday even as residents enjoyed the first fall rain and the lone demonstrator at the city’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement building was dressed as a pink Care Bear. While taking questions from reporters in the White House, Mr. Trump said that “every time I look at that place, it’s burning down” and claimed that when store owners in Portland need to make repairs, they “build it out of plywood.” Buildings are still constructed with wood, concrete, steel and other modern construction materials in Oregon.

Could probably make a fortune on the extra plywood lying around my basement. Make me an offer, retailers of Portland!

Refreshing to hear about a public university system in the south with this kind of integrity! (And yes I am obliquely referring to some craptastic decisions at my alma mater)

The Virginia Senate just told UVA it’s not getting state funding if it accepts the compact since UVA exists to serve Virginia, its residents, & their interests—not be a tool of the federal govt. I hope someday there are legal or at least karmic consequences for the people lying to and tricking a too-powerful and dementia-addled elderly man

Trump: "Portland, I mean -- every time I look at that place it's burning down. There are fires all over the place. When a store -- there are very few of them left -- but when a store owner rebuilds a store they build it out of plywood. They don't put up storefronts anymore. They just put wood up."

JB Pritzker has also been emphatically placing Trump's mental decline squarely on the agenda. On our pod, he adds a new element: People around Trump are using his decline to manipulate him, so they're less likely to intervene. More Dems should say this. 1/
