There are a few movies that I vividly remember seeing as a child in the theater. Stand By Me is one of them. This broke my heart.

As far as directors go, Rob Reiner’s films speak more about the audience than about himself.
What I mean by that is that your favorite Rob Reiner film says a lot about who you are as a person.
One of the great ‘Litmus Test’ directors in that regard.

I might have even helped to fund this as a misguided young adult when they first kickstarted it.

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

The argument as to whether the people we murdered on those boats were allegedly drug runners or fisherman sidesteps the most important point of this entire issue.

I can't stop thinking about the purported drug smugglers being murdered by the US military. The punishment for drug offenses isn't the death penalty. This is just bloodlust and men in suits playing with lives they don't care about. It's truly grotesque and gravely compromises this country.

It's 'smart' to say things like: WICKED FOR GOOD was awful. A truly bad film that pads down the breezy, montage heavy second half of the stage musical into movie that feels as rusty and leaden as the Tin Man himself.
But it's also wise to admit: I've enjoyed Marvel films that were far worse.
