It'd honestly be very on brand for the filibuster to be *the line* for the Senate GOP caucus.
I want to see how how Senate Brain holds up against angry Truth Social Primary Threats
Trending left at a slow pace, but also the city itself is quite conservative.
4. The new third and second districts, with lots of JC voters spread between them, vote in Democratic candidates as JC is pissed at being ripped apart

Need a LIB MANDATE outcome for KS
KANSAS GOP 2026
1. Gerrymander the 3rd District again hoping to wipe out Sharice Davids
2. Sharice Davids runs for Senate and knocks out Marshall (oops)
3. Johnson County and Sedgwick County rocket blue, wiping out the GOP in the House as well as kneecapping Ty's gubernatorial run (ouch)
I want Roger Marshall to enjoy a lovely retirement in Florida
This becoming a stupid version of FDR's Court Packing fight would be an enormously funny outcome
Idk the mechanism required but like how many GOP Senators would he have to strong arm
It’s kinda fascinating (and horrifying) to think about what it’d be like to have a true Deep Red State legislature at the national level. I don’t think Americans would like it much, especially moderate/soft R types that are insulated from hard GOP policy in blue states
I honestly don’t think the Senate GOP caucus has the votes to end the filibuster (even with a narrow carve out)

Though like I think full nuclear (if passed) probably means the Senate rips itself apart over the more insane legislation. Or maybe not and we get Full Fascism for 14 months
Yes but I’m assuming you have a bunch of R defections in the vote. So you get both an embarrassing defeat for the anti-abortion crowd, something that splits the GOP caucus, and raises there salience of abortion.

Although honestly, outside of Collins and Murk, I don’t know who would vote no
GOP ripping each other apart over insane legislation is probably to some extent what would happen
At some level I think the only way out is to have the batshit stuff from the fascist wing to make it onto the floor of the Senate to be reported on and debated.

Which would be an immense net negative for the GOP in an election year. People don’t take the far right seriously enough!
National Abortion Ban going down 57-43 but causing Lib Anger to reach revolutionary levels
Susan Collins will have concerns
Look at my apolitical officers dawg
Remain hopeful we can avoid a cool zone moment, but officers writing pre-justifications for an American Tlatelolco is very spooky.
Kinda shit that reminds me why the Framers were so freaked out by standing armies lol
Drives me bonkers that so many pundits view the “electorate” as an incredibly stable entity and not something that shifts quite dramatically from election and election
Honestly we’re so used to narrow victories at this point that a standard double digit victory + 55-60 senators would do immense psychological damage

Plus I really do think 55 is what you need to break the filibuster and have a pretty rigorous trifecta. Just depends on who is the 51st vote
They’d be haunted by it the way Dems are still haunted by the Ghosts of 1980-1988 (though that is changing)
I want a double digit Dem victory in 2028 so bad. Like it becomes clear who won by 9:30 PM EST

54-42 please
Long run anything is possible, but I think it’s pretty much certain coalition dynamics are going to be very different by 2025
If a 6.1% GDP drop doesn’t at least cause a substantial demobilization of a large part of Trump’s Coalition (I do think it will) we are deeply screwed in ways that are irreversible in the short-medium run
