1. Gerrymander the 3rd District again hoping to wipe out Sharice Davids
2. Sharice Davids runs for Senate and knocks out Marshall (oops)
3. Johnson County and Sedgwick County rocket blue, wiping out the GOP in the House as well as kneecapping Ty's gubernatorial run (ouch)

It’s kinda fascinating (and horrifying) to think about what it’d be like to have a true Deep Red State legislature at the national level. I don’t think Americans would like it much, especially moderate/soft R types that are insulated from hard GOP policy in blue states

I honestly don’t think the Senate GOP caucus has the votes to end the filibuster (even with a narrow carve out)

Though like I think full nuclear (if passed) probably means the Senate rips itself apart over the more insane legislation. Or maybe not and we get Full Fascism for 14 months

Yes but I’m assuming you have a bunch of R defections in the vote. So you get both an embarrassing defeat for the anti-abortion crowd, something that splits the GOP caucus, and raises there salience of abortion.

Although honestly, outside of Collins and Murk, I don’t know who would vote no

At some level I think the only way out is to have the batshit stuff from the fascist wing to make it onto the floor of the Senate to be reported on and debated.

Which would be an immense net negative for the GOP in an election year. People don’t take the far right seriously enough!

Honestly we’re so used to narrow victories at this point that a standard double digit victory + 55-60 senators would do immense psychological damage

Plus I really do think 55 is what you need to break the filibuster and have a pretty rigorous trifecta. Just depends on who is the 51st vote

If a 6.1% GDP drop doesn’t at least cause a substantial demobilization of a large part of Trump’s Coalition (I do think it will) we are deeply screwed in ways that are irreversible in the short-medium run
