"The second I met Epstein, I was disgusted, and I swore I'd never interact with him again."

"And then later you visited him on his private island?"

"Yes. With my wife, four children, my nannies (plural), and another couple. Had lunch with him on the island. Then we all left. It was in 2012"
VAN HOLLEN: Did you in fact make the visit to Epstein's private island?

LUTNICK: I did have lunch w/ him as I was on a boat going across on a family vacation. My wife was with me as were my 4 children and nannies. We had lunch on the island. That's true. For an hour. We left with all of my children

I know the Sgt. Schultz routine seems to work for GOP legislators, but claiming you’re unaware of massively viral videos of ICE misconduct when you’re the director of ICE just makes you sound hopelessly incompetent and out of the loop.
THANEDAR: What did your ICE agent mean when he said, 'you raise your voice, I erase your voice' in the video all of us have seen?

LYONS: I'm not aware of that video. I can't comment

Yeah! So, it is great to see all the "Don't Tread on Me" folks out in the streets protesting government tyranny! /s

Just yet another example of craven hypocrisy. When Hunter did it, it was the end of the world. When the Trump sons do it, and at a scale that absolutely dwarfs was Hunter apparently did, it's a big, "Meh".

Seriously, this is the ranting of a crazy old man. Utter lunacy.

And aside from insane hockey comment, a key point he left unmentioned is that the USA refused to share the cost of building the bridge. Canada so valued its relationship with the US that it built the bridge at 100% it own cost.
Trump, in the middle of his latest unhinged Truth Social screed, claims that if Canada makes a trade deal with China, "the first thing China will do is terminate ALL Ice Hockey being played in Canada, and permanently eliminate The Stanley Cup."

He's probably telling Trump this garbage and making Trump think he has some unbelievable leverage over Canada.

Does Greer think *all* of Canada’s GDP relies on exports? Does he know how to calculate GDP?

Historically, 75% of our *exports* have gone to the U.S. but that only ever translated into 17% of GDP.
And Canadian businesses are actively pursuing other markets. www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/pub/36-28...

U.K. might lose a prime minister because a guy who worked for him knew another guy who hung out with Epstein. Meanwhile the U.S. opposition party is telling our President, who was Epstein's best friend, that his secret police should get better training so their public street murders look less messy.

This is insane even by insane trumpian standards. Canada is building a bridge on land Canada owns both sides of, and he's like "nice project you have there, I want half. And also, no ice hockey for you because China." How the MSM media isn't yelling questions about his mental health is a travesty.

Canada spent $6.4 billion to build this bridge and the US did not contribute. Construction started in the last Trump era, 2018. The issue: this new toll bridge will cut into the profits of the Maroun family of Detroit who own the Ambassador Bridge.

Just sent this out, mostly free. The Epstein files show just how close he was to Russian sources. They also make it clear that Epstein represented a historic opportunity to collect Kompromat on the rich and famous. Nothing would terrify a narcissist more. open.substack.com/pub/phillips...

“Collection of Handwritten Letters from Children in Detention Center” sounds like an exhibit in the Holocaust Museum.
1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.

Hundreds of kids are still detained.

We’ll let the children’s words speak for themselves. 🧵

“We rely on Hispanic labor,” said ...a second-generation farmer who grows sweet corn seed and mint in Wilder. She added, “Nobody thought something like this could happen here.”

Classic "I never thought leopards would eat MY face" thinking.

But this explains the low RURAL support for this policy.

So long as their guy is in power, they don't give a damn about any of it. The hypocrisy level is set at 11, and shamelessly so.

What this moment is making clear is that Republicans do NOT care at all about most of the things that they were insanely vocal about claiming to support:
- integrity and morality in leadership
- traditional family values
- government tyranny
- child sexual abuse

Amongst other things, this again highlights the core point about due process. It’s bad enough to be in a “show me your papers” situation, but your precious citizen/non-citizen, “legal”/“illegal” distinctions are meaningless when you can’t prove anything to authorities because they don’t give a shit.
