"It is the Doom of Men that they forget." - Merlin's warning to Arthur and his Knights.

We had vaccines for so long, we, as a people, forgot how horrible it was before. It's heartbreaking to think about how many times parents have had to bury their children.
I've said this repeatedly -> if you have any doubts about what vaccines do, go to an old cemetery.

You'll find lots of gravestones for the 1/5th of young children who - before vaccines - routinely died from early childhood diseases.
It's notable that, even in an article critical of RFK Jr., the reporter hedges, saying "There’s no good evidence of serious, widespread harm from the vaccine" rather than just "vaccines are safe." RFK Jr. has made a career of exploiting the ambiguity of the former.

Turns out Musk and the tech bros really didn't care about "western civilization."
The headline, the main takeaway from a European viewpoint is this:

The transatlantic relationship as we know it is over. Yes, we kinda knew this. But this is now official US White House policy. Not a sppech, not a statement. The West as it used to be no longer exists.

Often the group think is right.
In fact, more often.
Bitch as we may about the madness of crowds, justifiably so, the crowd is more often, more right than the outlier.
Especially when we are dealing with self described, "free-thinkers."

Billionaire philanthropy isn’t charity.

It’s PR to distract you from low wages, labor exploitation, and a tax system that’s rigged for the rich.

This is my "Dutch Auction" theory of authoritarianism.

It's no coincidence, for example, that the Wannsee Conference, where the Nazi top leadership signed off on the Final Solution, took place just after the military tide turned outside Moscow, and the U.S. declared war on Germany.
The most dangerous moment in every authoritarian regime is when it realizes that its power has crested and is now falling. This is when they realize that if they are to achieve their maximalist ambitions, now they have to throw the dice — because no matter how bad the odds, their odds are best now.
