Lo siento, soy inglés y estoy borracho.
What's the most Southampton outcome from this afternoon?
Beat the team that's bottom of the league in a way that convinces the board to give the under-qualified caretaker the full-time manager's job?
Or lose to the team that's bottom of the league, with one win all season?

For those wondering if his talking about World Cup tickets was a recency thing with Mamdani, a very long time ago, Real Oviedo was a football club in trouble. It launched a public shares effort. I bought some, lots of people did. The new Mayor of New York is a proper damn football nerd.

So the guy who was clearly our best player at the start of the season probably should've been playing a bit more? Well I never. #saintsfc

The full transcript of Zohran Mamdani's acceptance speech is very much worth reading in full. Even if you don't agree with your politics, it's very beautifully put together.

There's a glorious irony that I clicked on the club's notification about Will Still and the app gave me this. You can't argue with it, I guess.
I'm not sure if I trust that they'll fix the app or the team first though. #saintsfc

They're calling him the most French man in history
A French cyclist survived for three days after a horrendous 130-foot fall into a ravine, kept alive by the bottles of red wine he had in his shopping bag, police said.

If we don't all collectively refer to him as 'The Andrew formerly known as Prince' from now on, then we deserve nothing but misery.

Y’day I posted about Sir Oswald Mosley’s pro-Nazi British Union of Fascists in the 1930s. Some comments on Facebook expressed support for Mosley and his ideology. I know you can’t really reason with people who will publicly support fascism but this is what Mosley’s ideology did to Southampton:

Please take a minute to read their letter, & share it with the people in your life who need to hear the truth about the people they are protesting.

Just a decade ago, even Nick Griffin wouldn't have dared actually say this sort of shit out loud.

Did it ring out, though? There's definitely a growing number of fans who want Still gone, but I didn't hear this on TV and I'm yet to hear or see anyone who was at the game say they sang this or heard others sing it.
Still, it's nice to see The Athletic acknowledging that #SaintsFC exist for once.

Since winning the Championship play-off final in May 2024, Southampton have played 47 league matches.
They have won four.
𝙎𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 rang out from the away end at Ashton Gate as Will Still's side slumped to a 3-1 defeat by Bristol City.

Private Eye offers up an excellently scornful commentary on the relentless polling. It’s become ridiculous and has oversimplified our politics to dangerous levels of stupid and irresponsible.

Shambolic defending, but Armstrong's great when he doesn't have time to think about things. It's weird to see us playing well in a first half. #SaintsFC

FIFA will charge both sellers and buyers a 15 per cent fee on its official 2026 World Cup ticket resale platform, which launched on Thursday and almost immediately had some tickets listed for tens of thousands of dollars.

Yes, we won a game, but the real story of the night is that Mislav Orsic scored a goal in the actual Champions League against actual Bayern Munich.
