This is fucking psychotic. All the data you actually had made it look like the opposite was happening so Schumer said hey let's pretend otherwise.
MSNBC reported Schumer's office felt that the longer that shutdown went on, the more likely it was that people would start to blame the Dems.
My kingdom for Democrats that don't govern out of fear. I've said it before and I'll say it again: The American people are far braver than their reps.

Evergreen post. Might as well pin it.
American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

I would be fucking embarrassed if such a predictable question backed me into a corner such that I had to cave on such a huge issue.
Shaheen: "When I talk to my constituents in New Hampshire, you know what they say to me? They say, 'Why can't you all just work together to address the problems that are facing this country?'"

Call the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and they will connect you with your senator's office.
No matter how they voted last night, every one of them has a say in maintaining Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin as their caucus leaders. Every one of them is accountable here.

The thing @schumer.senate.gov appears to be doing where he gets everybody who’s retiring or was just sworn in to a six-year term to vote yes so he and a bunch more moderates can vote “no” to appear more progressive than they are is so insulting lol

This is genuinely top 5 dumbest thing any American politician has ever said. These fucking people.
Hassan: With the government reopening shortly, Republicans now finally have to come to the table. Or make no mistake, Americans will remember who stood in the way.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.
Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.

say what you will about nancy pelosi but her caucus didn’t DARE vote against her wishes or they knew she’d shank them
I don’t believe it’s his doing but he certainly doesn’t have a full hold of his caucus.

"How could Dems cave like this after last Tuesday's victory?" But it wasn't a victory for Schumer. His candidate -- the Trump-supported one -- lost. The jubilation and hope folks feel about Mamdani? Chuck feels the opposite. To sum up: he sucks.

In fact, the chief lobbyist for the private jet industry THANKED Trump and Duffy for their cancellations of commercial flights.
The lobbyist called it a “thoughtful approach.” Can’t imagine Americans who had their flights canceled this weekend agree!

Anyone who tells you that Candace Owens is not antisemitic in the worst way is either supremely ignorant or lying.
There’s no daylight between what Candace says here about “the Jews” & what Nazi propagandists & Father Coughlin said about the Jews in the 1930s. Her show is one of the top 5 “conservative” podcasts in the US. She has 5.5 million subscribers on YouTube and 7.3 million followers on X.
