Michigan is standing up and speaking out against the data center onslaught across our state, against DTE secret deals, unwanted AI nonsense, corporations buying our politicians...

And for our communities and a healthy sustainable future for us all. They have the money. We have our power. ♥️💧✊

The poem has been around forever, we know what happens when they come for one group and we don't speak up. Human rights are for everyone, or they are for no one.
This is Red Rover time, kids, link those arms and hold on tight while they throw it all at us.

Dem senator @alsobrooks.senate.gov hiding comments calling her out for throwing trans people under the bus.
Interesting…all 21 comments are hidden…and most if not all are speaking out about your vote against the trans community…

Fossil fuel executives have so much responsibility for the moral depravity the US is experiencing. They knowingly & willingly supported Trump’s fascism in an attempt to prolong their profits & control over energy policy as we hurl ourselves towards climate chaos.

One thing you learn dealing with transphobes is that their surface level "concerns" are often not sincere but rather just a pretext for their bigotry.

No understanding, compromise or evidence offered will ever be good enough because it's all bad faith bs

doing video also feels particularly Problematic for those of us with gender dysphoria

many of us were I think drawn to the Internet in the first place because it was a space where we could exist and socialize without being ceaselessly visually perceived (and thus gendered)
I agree that it’s 100% true that the eyeballs are all on short form video - and man, it’s still really depressing how the necessity of Doing Video nowadays seriously disadvantages people who aren’t conventionally attractive (or who just genuinely can’t stand being on camera)
The one thing I keep thinking about is how much direct to camera stuff rewards physical attractiveness. I mean, that's gotta be part of the reason these wellness influencers are successful, right? And you're competing for eyeballs with them.

If you walked into the voting booth and put a fucking check mark next to "Donald J. Trump" for President, you cannot fucking say "I didn't vote for this". YES YOU DID. You checked the box, you posted the memes, you owned the libs, and now we are all being rewarded for your hatred and racism. Thanks.

it would take 30 years to transform my hometown into some place where the infrastructure is meaningfully less car centric. what should we do in the meantime to keep repeat offenders for speeding and DUIs off the roads?

I think it was a huge mistake to make our society so car-dependent. But man. The Discourse today is a good reminder that when it comes to roadways policy, otherwise progressive anti-car people quickly become some of the most pro-carceral, anti-civil liberties people on the planet.

Detroit Police officials overseeing gunshot sensors don’t know their locations — and say that’s fine • Michigan Advance
When gunfire rips through some Detroit neighborhoods, ShotSpotter hears it first — but where exactly that signal comes from is a secret kept even from police. Critics of Detroit’s gunshot detection sy...

The problem is that Twitter is still considered the "public sphere" in the, eh, 1960s Meet the Press sense. Us going back only legitimizes it.

We need to inform mass media outlets focusing there instead of here that they're aligning with neonazism. And then ridicule them.

Rand Paul is agreeing with you. About one, maybe two, possibly a handful of things.

Rand Paul is a stopped clock and still a self-centered destructive shit but sometimes possibly useful. Also still a bad person.

The reason we're in this fucking mess is the GOP are the only ones actively trying to shift public opinion for the past 30 years, while Carville-brain Dems just follow whatever it is at the moment.
On top of not understanding public opinion is malleable, they ignore any survey results that don't confirm their prior beliefs!
