We have a “poverty trap” and it’s driving the destruction of social cohesion.

The “poverty line” is’t 35,000, it’s $150,000, and making more than one, and less than the other is worse than being “poor”.

Which is why the rage.

Finishing the Wolves game from last night and I don’t recall disliking a team as much as OKC.

-They are cheap
-they grift
-they get the best whistle I’ve ever seen
-announcers just love them for some reason

And none of it’s necessary! They’re good, just play ball!

My wife’s parents are divorced and yet both have this special quirk of not giving even a general time when they will show up for a planned visit.

-Last night

“Thursday morning or maybe Wednesday night.”

-8am today

“We will see what happens.”

-2pm today

“We will be there about 5”

WTF!?!

In my estimated property tax statement for next year… roughly where tax dollars go.

It’s obscene to me that we spend 25x as much on policing as we do on public housing. And the combined costs of fire department and public works is STILL less than police expenses.

In the 80’s, they closed state-operated social services. Then, non-profits had to rise up to fund/meet needs. Then, states started giving non-profits funding to meet needs. Then, some non-profits started committing fraud. Now, states should municipalize social services and omit the middle man. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Won against both of them too right?
Fun Fact:

Kevin Garnett is the ONLY player in NBA History to face both the 72-10 Bulls, and the 73-9 Warriors.

Someone on the Minneapolis subreddit caught Waymos being delivered. We need the City Council need to ban the use of driverless cars. The technology isn't there. Our city cannot be a testing ground for 1.5 ton autonomous projectiles.

Didn’t watch so, grain of salt, but seemed Denver shot well and wolves didn’t?

Also a lot of Rudy hate and the sky is blue but Donte didn’t play well either, Clark could played more (maybe Dilly too?) back to back, first good team in like a month.

Excuses but 🤷‍♂️

Was reminded from someone about the new Hippo Pockets location on 48th and Chicago and gave it a go.

Excellent food! Lots of options including vegan.

My wife and I started watching John Wick 4 on Prime I think? in August before our 2nd child was born.

A month ago watched 30 min of it on Peacock?

Had an hour during nap today and can only find it to rent, which is fine, but not long enough to finish it. 1/2

This was probably an Election Day omen. My mom, has lived in Nebraska the last 30 years, called me on Tuesday because she found out on Facebook that Lisa Demuth is running for governor.

Turns out she is a distant relative of mine (mom’s cousin-in-law). My mom was pretty pumped and was like uhh….

It’s also basically an open secret around City Hall that much of his time is spent calling reporters and editors if he’s unhappy with certain coverage or articles and will yell at them if he feels he’s been wronged.

no one reported on the we love mpls training slideshow i leaked. no one reported on the entire 1 hour long all of mpls call i recorded that i know media got. they don’t care, they won’t cover it, we have to do it instead
Not a single mainstream media outlet reported the campaign violations and conflicts surrounding All of Mpls, We Love Mpls, and Thrive Mpls.

They're not just "missing the story." They're protecting the system--and themselves.

Had my cat Gus for 5 years and just witnessed him swipe food (bacon) for the first time.

He has snuck in and licked stuff, but never tried to flee during the act.

I’m not even upset, I’m impressed.

Building cities in ways that forces people to own & use a car for most/all trips was a very bad idea (& limits mobility for millions).

Americans deserve the freedom to safely, comfortably and efficiently travel in cities via whatever mode best fit their needs & the trip.
