Either this ends with some sort of truth and reconciliation process where a very large number of people go to prison for a very long time or we will take a short pause and then start doing it again, but worse.
A Naperville man was hauled away by federal immigration agents Thursday morning as his two sons watched, the older boy begging them not to hurt his father and tearfully asking for a chance to speak to him before they left.

There’s a way to be respectful in reporting on Charlie Kirk being shot while also refusing to whitewash who he was and what consequences his political activism has had. Obituaries for public figures are a part of history.

I think it’s totally consistent with an information environment in which attention, not the ballot, gets treated as the purest representation of the public will.
It is weird that the assassination of essentially a celebrity influencer is a bigger deal than the shooting of two top state legislators + their spouses

This. A true accounting of where a lot of the responsibility lies.
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) on the shooting of Charlie Kirk:
"Political violence, unfortunately, has ramped up in this country ... I think there are people who are fomenting it in this country. I think the president's rhetoric often foments it."

I don’t disagree with the point being made here, but also they do this like every three weeks. They were calling for Civil War about the Cracker Barrel logo.
Rufo calling for mass arrests, Blake Masters & Cernovich calling for RICO against Dem & left funders, and a whole lot of everyday people begging for martial law, or, even worse, "gloves off." 99.9% of whom are just spouting off, but today if anything teaches us the damage that one .1% fool can do.

This is just a litany of aesthetic gripes and pet peeves. The fact that he cannot recognize the same hollow arguments from the years he spent debating gay marriage shows how pickled his brain has become.
