I remember when Red Candles (based in Taiwan) had their game Devotion removed from Steam because of the Chinese government.
They got a lot of support on their own website. Kept the studio in business and they made the excellent Nine Sols too!

Like i dont think steam is a monopoly in strict terms but if one valve mod's beef is enough to pose an existential threat to a studio it's not a sign of a healthy marketplace. Buy from more places. For the economy

I don't know when it happened, but at some point the kids started referring to console ports as "remakes", and I think as the older generation it is our responsibility to correct them.
