Ok I’m doing it: Thread of all the unquestionable antisemitism by trump admin and associates, because as a Jew, I refuse to be used to further their cynical assault on civil liberties. 1/x
I'm not going to speak for other Jews, but for me personally: I find it pretty fucking galling for the Trump administration, which is staffed in large part by Nazi sympathizers, to use antisemitism as an excuse for their racism and xenophobia.

Effective immediately, the government says it will begin screening immigrant social media for activity that officials think indicates support for antisemitism.

Folks in the replies truly working this metaphor OUT
i feel like the viral bus thread resonates because at every step of the way you're like "ok surely this will be resolved shortly, any second now," which seems like what all the passengers are also thinking. then the fact that the situation doesn't resolve and the bus just keeps going is an Allegory

In fact, every university that hosts Duke should unnerve the visitors with chants of "STE-PHEN MIL-LER 👏👏 👏 👏 👏"

It'd be a great way to rattle them but also a nice middle finger to this administration in a non-news forum
I mean, if they aren't chanting "ICE is your fault" or some such when the Dookies show up at the Smith Center this year I don't even know if I still want to wish that Maryland was back in the ACC anymore.

This is completely fucking unacceptable. Shut this terrorist government down until it stops brutalizing its own citizens.
Today at 34 & Park in Minneapolis, a woman tried to drive down the street where a protest had broken out in front of a home ICE was raiding, saying she had a doctor apt to get to. ICE agents busted out her windows, cut off her seatbelt, and pulled her out before arresting her.

if you want to know what it is like in minneapolis, I don’t even have to scroll on facebook to find a horror story. it’s basically my whole feed.

everyone i know in minneapolis is seeing ICE take people—at gas stations, taquerias, bus stops, schools. just snatching random people.

I have slowed my use a lot and frankly it has only been positive. I haven’t missed anything important, and my mind has been able to concentrate more capably and instinctively on positive aspects of my life and how I contribute to others.
This too, guys. Find a little corner of the world and pay it some loving attention: fostering change you can observe. We are silly monkeys, we need to see the real world to believe it exists, and to know the whole world isn't what we passively consume and share onscreen.
