RIP Udo Kier. Had an incredible evening circa 2009 seeing him interviewed by Bruce LaBruce onstage in Toronto. “So you were roommates with Fassbinder?” asked LaBruce. “AH YES!” replied Udo. “Vee vere… ‘room mates’!”

Thanks to @judysquirrels.bsky.social I just saw Strange Days in a theater for the first time since I last saw it when it came out; prescient doesn’t begin to describe it, nor does ultraviolent. Basically a flashbang grenade of a sensory experience, definitely made for the big screen.
