It is a sobering thought to realize that we're watching the leaders of American universities determine whether critical thinking-- and by extension, the #humanities --are still worthwhile investments.
Who invests in critical thinking and who invests in an AI chatbot to help you think will be really telling.

I think the only reason I kept my Twitter account up was to save my leadership thread. I wrote it while still in the Army and was one of my favorite tweets. May be time to deactivate the account, so am going to rewrite the thread here.

Study after study shows that using LLMs is bad for cognition, bad for learning, bad for understanding, bad for mental health. So why are our schools and universities still relentlessly pushing them?
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

Clean Energy accounted for all electricity growth this year. Gas/Coal were basically a wash and will be for years to come for electricity generation.

We need to ramp up batteries because they are 90% cheaper than distribution grid upgrades which is the main reason we have rate increases.

Australia has so much solar that it's offering everyone free electricity
Australia's extensive solar power penetration makes so much energy that the government wants to offer free electricity at peak hours.

Bernstein's kid wrote this wretched piece of shit. I don't know where you can find a better symbol of American media's decline. Just nauseating.

I joined the R&D group of an oil company right around the time of this dashed line. If id stood up in front of leaders and said this is my prediction of the future I would've been laughed out the room then fired.

There were many who stood up though, to say all the reasons the bars wouldn't go up.
There's an army of people out there telling us change is impossible.

Only that it is not.

Today one in five cars sold worldwide is electric.
