A president who can tear down 1/3 of the White House can tear down the entire White House. A president who can steal $230M from the treasury can steal $1T from the Treasury. We have both legalized and tolerated Trump’s crimes, so they will only get bigger.

🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

This is the President openly announcing that he will violate court orders - two courts had concluded that the Trump regime withholding SNAP funding was illegal - and that the government had to pay out (at least reduced) SNAP benefits starting this week

A few days after the presidential election one year ago, we went to Fordham Road in the Bronx.

It was a little different last week.

"the genie is out of the bottle"

They are so desperate to normalize this as fast as possible.
All quotes I read from companies "embracing AI" are basically

"please just admit it's here to stay, just admit it, accept it, admit that this is the new normal now. It's here, JUST ACCEPT IT!!!!!"
Coca-Cola's annual Christmas commercial is AI-generated again

The company used even fewer people to make it this year

“We need to keep moving forward and pushing the envelope … The genie is out of the bottle, and you’re not going to put it back in"

If (knock on wood) Dems sweep Tuesday’s elections handily, can we ease discourse away from its obsession over whether Dems are too left wing to win, and take greater notice of the fact that Republicans are in a civil war over whether to be Nazis or merely lesser fascists?
Exploit The GOP's Nazi Meltdown
Are we really going to accept the conceit that the central issue in politics is whether DEMOCRATS are too extreme?

“The survey found that the ‘yes’ vote was mostly coming from two of the largest urban areas in the state: Los Angeles County and the San Francisco Bay Area, which collectively contain half the state’s voters.”

"Run the government like a business!"

Trump has never run any real business. He's never had to plan anything. He just orders lackeys to waste his money in personally pacifying ways.
As Democrats have said for 3 weeks, despite the shutdown, Trump had the money for SNAP all along.

He chose not to feed the poor and used the shutdown as pretext. If he hadn't held SNAP hostage, there would not have been a funding delay, and 42M people would not be going hungry.

"By presenting judging as a realm of pure law, insulated from politics, the justices offer a picture so implausible that it makes the opposite claim—that judging is nothing but politics—more credible. In their effort to inspire confidence, they deepen cynicism."-- Mark Graber

Amy Coney Barrett’s book, "Listening to the Law," claims the Supreme Court is above politics. Its very existence proves otherwise.

you can convincingly portray this whole financialized AI edifice as a mortgage crisis-style house of cards without even mentioning that the fundamental product is unreliable, based on outright theft, and people don’t like it.

I was laid off from Teen Vogue this week, alongside multiple other phenomenal team members.

At our Summit, I was asked how it felt to be 1 of 2 Black women left and what that meant for representation. Now, there are no Black women at Teen Vogue and that is incredibly painful to think about.

Conservatives spent the last few decades conjuring up a bogeyman of a communist takeover of the US government that would mean the incarceration of Christians and making practicing Christianity illegal, only to finally create their own version of such a bizarre fantasy.

Bloomberg: Duffy said he is prepared to close US airspace if the budget crisis makes flying unsafe.

FAA is already short on air traffic controllers, and many of them are working without pay.

More than 6,200 flights were delayed on Friday and nearly 500 were canceled.

the dread median voter is more deluded than stupid and/or evil. we have evolved a catastrophically broken information environment that misled people by the millions, but they dont like what they voted for
People fucking hate this guy. They fucking hate ICE. They fucking hate how much power he has. He is at 63% overall disapproval to 37% approval. That's lower than their poll after January 6th. And this poll was done before he started intentionally starving people. I wish our media would reflect this.

dissatisfied by the New York Times coverage of Zohran Mamdani?

great news! I talked to the guy Thursday about his campaign’s success at bringing community together beyond this election, and contextualized how it’s potentially shifted youth engagement with politics by simply listening @teenvogue.com

NEW: Footage of a US citizen in Chicago being rammed then dragged from her car on her way to work.

Abducted, with no warrant, her family couldn’t find her for hours.

She was later released with NO CHARGE.

A DHS statement said she “violently resisted arrest, injuring two officers”.

You decide…

Conde Nast and Vogue (which Teen Vogue is being pulled into) are truly underestimating how much young people are impacted by and care about politics.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.
