He’s gilded the entire White House, slapped his name on both the Kennedy Center and Institute for Peace, installed a new Trump Gold Card, and now proposing a new “Trump class” of naval vessels.

I know we keep saying this is insane but this is seriously fucking insane.

Trump's DOJ is trying to overturn D.C.'s ban on assault weapons ... while claiming to be SO concerned about crime in the District that it must flood our streets with National Guard troops.

I think a president worried about D.C. crime would not be trying to arm criminals with especially lethal guns?
BREAKING: The Trump administration is suing D.C. over its ban on semi-automatic (AR-15) weapons.

DOJ's Civil Rights Division under Harmeet Dhillon is seeking a court ruling that D.C.'s law "prohibiting registration of the AR-15 by law-abiding citizens violates the Second Amendment."

Found the actual men in women's bathrooms assaulting women.
ICE agents illegally break into a woman's bathroom in a NY nutrition bar manufacturing plant. "Pull up your pants," says a male agent. The agents only had a warrant to review employer documents. They didn't have a warrant to search for, detain, or arrest anyone there.

Can we just pause to note how comically meaningless the reflexive Republican use of "radical" has become? Have they ever encountered a single Democrat too milquetoast and centrist to describe as "radical"?
If this doesn't motivate you to vote in the Midterms, nothing will.

Assertions of white victimization have been central to backlash rhetoric since the Reconstruction Era. JD Vance’s claim at the Turning Point convention that “you don’t have to apologize for being white anymore,” fits into this tradition.

An editor who thinks novelty is having a town hall with Alan Dershowitz, or publishing the thousandth anti-woke story, doesn’t think having first hand testimony of migrants suffering abuse because of US decisions is newsworthy.
Bari Weiss, cont'd: "I held that story because it wasn't ready. The story presented very powerful testimony of abuse in CECOT, but that testimony has already been reported... The public knows that Venezuelans have been subjected to horrific treatment in this prison... we simply need to do more."

Some of the best (I think) material in Five Came Back is there because a librarian saw what I was working on over 3 days and asked me if I'd like to take a look at a box of old George Stevens papers that had not been catalogued yet. So no, for a ton of reasons, AI cannot "do the research for you."
