this is going to sound crass but my main opinion on the recent vile, bigoted, deliberately anti-medical supreme court decision on trans care is that in the immediate term blue states have to rapidly build more housing and help people get here

Bodily autonomy is a human right.

Transness isn't a disease that needs to be cured. We're a normal part of the spectrum that is the human condition. And we deserve to have the final say over our own bodies - not just because of the harm if we don't, but because they belong to us and not the state.

1. The US Transgender Survey has finally been released, and the results are stunning.

- <1% of people are less satisfied after HRT.
- The most common reason for detransition, pausing transition, or stopping transition is transphobia.

Largest Trans Survey Ever: Top Reason Trans People Stop Transitioning Is Transphobia
“In almost every single case, the reason was anti-trans discrimination in the form of pressure to ‘detransition’ from one’s family, friends, or community.”

the mainstream media has been steadily buying into the idea that science and academia are somehow "captured" by left and liberal ideologues, rather than the more obvious explanation that measured analysis leads people away from reactionary thought

For a poetic view on this, I read Eric Vuillard’s L’Ordre de Jour, Order of the Day. I highly recommend this short work. Living in the US right now, it was an overwhelmingly emotional read.

Moving a detainee around to evade judicial review is classic authoritarian behavior.

The government claims Mahmoud Khalil was already in NJ on his way to Louisiana by the time his habeas petition was filed—an argument that the NY federal court lacks jurisdiction.

But Khalil's lawyer checked the ICE locator when she filed and even 4 hrs after, and he was listed as still being in NY.
I worked all night to draft a habeas petition for Mahmoud. The petition was filed at
4:40 AM on March 9, 2025, in the Southern District of New York. At the time of filing the petition,
we had every reason to believe that Mahmoud was detained in New York because of what the
DHS agent told his wife and the ICE Online Detainee Locator System?
10. I originally checked the ICE locator around 10 PM on Saturday, March 8th and
Mahmoud was not in the system. I checked again at 1:35 AM on Sunday, March 9th and it said he
was in custody in New York and to call the field office. I checked again at 4:29 AM on Sunday, March gth and it said the same thing. I checked again at 8:30 AM on Sunday, March gth and Mahmoud was still listed as being detained in New York.

Anyone find it funny how when the UK releases the Cass review to ban trans care, we get everything ranging from New York Times push notifs to op-eds in every major US paper...

But when Germany, Switzerland, and Austria release pro-trans youth care guidelines, not a single article anywhere but mine?

Germany, Switzerland, and Austria have just released their trans youth care guidelines.

They strongly recommend trans youth care and slam the

Europe is not "pulling back" on trans care.
