Councillor Vince Crisanti says the increase to the land transfer tax on homes for more than $3 million is a "forced redistribution of wealth" and "insulting" to people who can afford homes in that range. "The wealthy already contribute to the economy in so many ways," he says.

In Toronto, yesterday was the earliest sunset of the year. Today was later, by five seconds. The earliest sunset precedes the latest sunrise by a few weeks because of the tilt of the earth--the shortest day is the solstice, in between them.

Oh ffs, this is just stupid and lazy. Not a trace of real interest in showing how knitting works.

Everyone's being let down by #Gameofwool, even Tom Daley. I'm very disappointed in the judges not insisting on better. Surprised no-one jumped ship when they realised quite how rubbish it really is.
also, WHAT IS THIS AI SLOP DOING ON THE KNITTING SHOW?

it's becoming so obvious that the producers don't actually care about knitting at all and just wanted a quirky game show format #GameofWool

So the Ford appointed supervisors will make more than all School Board Trustees combined, and that money will come out of the education budget that’s supposed to go to student needs. Shame! globalnews.ca/news/1151063... #topoli #onpoli #onted

Several school boards in Ontario, including Toronto public, Toronto Catholic and Ottawa-Carleton, have been under the management of supervisors for months.

I always sign up for the study that gets emailed to you after vaccinations, this one checks for adverse health effects 8 days and 1 month afterward. This time I had a day of muscle soreness and fatigue, after the double COVID/flu vaccine.

What a heartwarming and frustrating combination of things that people shouldn't have to do, but it's so nice that they are.

This is too bad, it seemed like such a good business. I'm so curious about what actually happened.
Once upon a time, eShakti was the go-to online shop for people sized out of mall stores, but no longer. @andreagrimes.com  investigates its heartbreaking enshittification:
The Enshittification of eShakti
eShakti ghosted workers and customers alike, and the dream of something better than fast fashion died with it.

At a press conference this afternoon, Attorney General Doug Downey said they want to move away from requiring "evergreen leases, that just go on with no end in sight":
October 23, 2025 at 10:57 PM
Oh shit, that's not good.
In particular, they want leases to no longer necessarily remain in effect indefinitely, so that landlords have more options for creating tenant turnover.

saw a bus ad for an AI assistant today that suggested you could get AI to "delegate tasks based on work load and brief the team" and let me tell you. If AI ever briefed me on my tasks in place of a human being, it's not going to be a success.

"Canada Post is on track to lose money" Hum. Duh. It cost less than a toonie to send a letter across Canada.

"Canada Post is a service and not a business" was common knowledge until late stage capitalism brain rotted most people into think if it ain't making money for shareholders, it's failing.
