Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

this crystallizes why, despite truly heroic solidarity and activism, i can’t quite get in the “we’re going to win” mindset right now. the harm is so active and there’s so much violence we don’t even know about. people are being turned into ghosts.

to be clear, this is not a criticism of “we’re going to win.” i’ve just been turning it over in my mind, how we can balance the selflessness of neighbors with the absolute tragedy that so many have been disappeared. maybe we can’t. maybe it’s fight now, mourn later.

-a daily press conference at the same time that catalogues and highlights the latest ICE abuses, with video evidence if possible
-a dedicated team of state lawyers and prosecutors who can be available as legal advisers to people caught up in ICE interactions

Just guessing here, but I suspect the White House is pushing so hard for wars of conquest on multiple fronts because they see their support collapsing ahead of the midterms and worry they won't get another shot. An example of how tyrants become more dangerous as they get weaker, not less.

Trump’s line is that disrespect to law enforcement is punishable by death. Impeach and remove. This is not tolerable.

I'm hearing about this in a few states. My big question is whether it is preparation for a crackdown on resistance to ICE operations, or a preemptive crackdown on anti war protesters after the planned invasion of Greenland
my friend is a postal worker in minneapolis and they all got letters at work today to show to police to prove they are essential workers authorized to be out. i guess we're to the "papers please" era now officially.

More people are going to be murdered by ICE. It’s clear. The tactics ensure it, ICE is getting more furious and being disagreed with or resisted in any way, the verminous administration supports them and has shown they will tell any lie to support ICE murdering people.
