Anyway, the tl;dr to take away from all this is a thing I have been repeating for ages, which is that extremism symbols function on a plausible-deniability basis. People who use them 100% rely on normal people going "I had no idea, so maybe he didn't either."

You know what? I was raised by peaceniks and wasn’t even allowed to play with toy guns and Thich Nhat Hanh is my go-to theorist on empathy so my reaction to a lot of this is different from some of my friends and I don’t think these articles telling people how to feel are doing anything useful

Here are three pieces of life advice for survival under a government that hates you, from a Native. None of them are going to be the prepper bullshit I see currently circulating around- that's all bad advice, by the way, that one's free.
You need to be able to contain your anger and despair and write them in a diary or something instead of screaming them out to the public, demanding everyone else try and stop your panic attack for you. The public isn't your mommy or your nanny or your therapist or priest.
