It looks like I put the book next to the cat but in fact the cat put herself next to the book.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ For the whole Her Majesty's Royal Coven trilogy by @junodawson.bsky.social, I've not quite finished this final book (Human Rites) but I love this whole coven of witches ✨

A friend told me he had been clearing out his gran’s house. The most amazing thing he’d found was this knitted effigy of the man who had run off and abandoned my friend’s pregnant aunt. Into the effigy had been stuck twenty knitting needles: one for every year since the man had vanished.

I wrote to M&S about the stupid lingerie department story - confirms nobody offered a bra fitting to a teenage girl. The Telegraph and JK can (always) do one.
Screenshot of an email: Hi Rachel,

Thank you for contacting us about the article you’ve seen.

We want our stores to be inclusive and welcoming places for our colleagues and customers. We have written to this customer and explained that our colleagues typically work across all departments in our stores and customers can always ask to speak to the colleague they feel most comfortable with.

We also explained that our colleague was asking a customer if they needed help; they were not working on bra fit or offering this.

Thank you again for getting in touch.

Another incredible resource is lifeline4gaza.com, which currently includes 400+ funding appeals from people in Gaza and displays the amount donated over the last 5 days. Open the link and you will see the appeals ordered from least to most donations so the most neglected campaigns are at the top.

Definitely, it's at least a big pile of words that can be sorted into better words, rather than no words at all!
I definitely didn't have to do nine drafts of my first book before it was finished

Soad in Gaza has had her bluesky account closed again. She's really scared she's going to lose her son Omar. He's getting weaker and thinner and keeps falling over. Can you help with some ££ for vitamins and food? It would mean a lot. www.gofundme.com/f/providing-... #FreePalestine

This is the end result of anti-trans bigotry: more harassment of girls and women, more policing of gender roles, more gender McCarthyism.

Its the last week of excavations by @wtm.uk @nattrustarch.bsky.social and Worthing Arch Soc on Highdown Hill above Worthing

They've found lots of exciting prehistoric, Roman and sub Roman material

Great to see the later life of this early hillfort being explored

An epic visit to @wtm.uk's Big Dig up on Highdown Hill - archaeologists are excavating sites including Anglo-Saxon graves and a Bronze Age Barrow. Tours of the site are taking place until August 1st, well worth a visit if you love a hill fort! (I LOVE a hill fort):

Famine is the most dangerous for little kids like Remas & Toleen. Two months ago they restarted school after two years without. They should be learning, not wondering if they’ll eat today, tomorrow, the next day…

A square white graphic. On the left is a stylized ink illustration of a kestrel falcon in black on white, without outline just the black marks on its wings and face, drawn from behind. His wings are partly open and his head is turned to the right. In his beak is an anemone poppy in red ink with a green stem. On the right is the title "Keep hope alive: a gaza giving circle" in ink-effect font. The text says "We are a team of volunteers in the US and UK helping our friends on the ground keep their families and neighbors alive with food, water, & shelter. We distribute your contributions equally every week for sustainable support." In the bottom right corner in green text is the link tinyurl.com/HopeGivingCircle.
