Help needed with gender affirming care - we all know the NHS won't do it!

givewheel.com/fundraising/...

I can personally vouch for the people involved here - I work with them. If I could I'd fund the whole thing myself but sadly that lottery win hasn't turned up.
Finn’s gender affirming care
whats up my dudes, I am fundraising for my own gender affirming care to try and speed up the process to get top surgery and save the crippling spiral and mental health crisis that comes with the gende...

I have to watch this now. I've not read ACOTAR but I'm both worried and intrigued
I donated as often as I was able. I can't at present (though I'm hopeful for the future if all goes to plan!), but I've put I think 22 bags of B+ blood into the NHS to date. I'm an organ donor too, come to that.
I keep seeing myself in reflective surfaces and reacting all 'OH HEY! HELLO HANDSOME! WHO ARE YOU!?' I'm like a preening parakeet, I need to get outside where actual hot people are so I get some damn perspective.

Haircuts are gender affirming care. I'm proving it every time I see a shiny surface.

my woke take is that entirely too many people feel entitled to the benefits of a social contract while not feeling bound by the responsibilities of said contract

People need to be safe to talk about suicidal ideation without carceral response and without the perception of “promoting” it
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?
No words, just thunderous applause
Mine is in order of importance. To me, not anyone else. The top shelf is all Pratchett, except for Unseen Academics, which is the only one of his I DNF'd. I got bored? Somehow? Not his best work. Anyway, that one is on the bottom shelf with the textbooks.
you think you know someone and then you see their bookshelf and it's clearly organized by Pure Vibes
Thankfully I'm damn cute however my hair looks
Caved and got my partner to shave off my hair. Curly hair doesn't work well with the undercut/french braid look. I had a constant halo of frizz I was having to glue down, and my sensory issues do not play well with Stuff on/in my hair. Back to the generic 'is that a straight dude or a Queer' cut
Oh I love this channel! I haven't seen this one though
You can't beat my grandmother. She used to deep clean before the cleaning service arrived, because she couldn't have them thinking we were dirty.

Actually I think she still does that.
I definitely thought you were pregnant. I'm not sure what would be worse at this point though, given how horrendous both have been for you.
Well, I feel good. Charity collector knocked on the door, saw me, and asked if anyone over the age of 30 was home. Naturally I said no, and avoided an awkward conversation. Win!
Got my flu shot. Hopefully blagging my way into getting a covid vaccine on Saturday. Technically I'm not in the NHS' 'eligible' category. We shall see.
An 'expert' once recommended that I keep a notebook with all my appointments, because 'if you write it down you won't forget it'

I wordlessly pulled the notebook of appointments out of my bag, complete with the three appointments with her that I'd missed because they got memory holed
That is one adorable puppy. A+ would give too many treats

Salvation Army seen feeding ICE today. For anyone who doesn't already know about their bigotry, here is more, No need to give them your money this Christmas, or ever.
It’s dinner time for the police. Appears to be pizza from a Salvation Army van.

Broadview’s “free speech” curfew starts soon, at 6pm.
Like literary fiction doesn't have five billion 'sad middle aged professors sleeping with their student' novels... that's not following a genre at all.
This was my university experience too, except I never found a teacher that would allow it. I very nearly dropped out several times because of the sheer disdain for genre fiction. All it did was leave me with an equal disdain for 'literary fiction'. Save me from sad posh people having affairs.
My college creative writing program didn't allow fantasy or "genre" writing. Syllabi for all classes stated talking animals, magic, horror, etc results in an automatic 0.

I found 1 teacher in the whole program who encouraged it, and i took him for all 4 classes of my last semester.
I think for Halloween I'm going to get my hair cut in a masc style, get me a bloody canvas apron, blood-spatter a charity shop flannel shirt, and with a knife belt, workboots and my keys on a carabiner, I will be... drumroll please... a Butch-er
I hope you know I pulled a stomach muscle laughing at this. I would have replied way earlier, but the laughing kept popping back up

The problem with trying to do budget negotiations with this tinpot regime is that it’s like the King Solomon and the baby story. One side wants to preserve the baby (democracy, a functional government) and one doesn’t give a shit if it gets carved up as long as they win

imagine announcing to the world that your children are expendable and you don't worry at all about any of them dying because they're replaceable, and not catching on that you're the lowest scum on the planet
