Republican Lament
First he came for the rule of law, and I did nothing, for I am above the law.
Then he came for my fabricated enemies, and I did nothing, for that was the point of fabricating them.
Finally he came for me, and I was tossed aside, for there was no rule of law to appeal to.

Not the most important fail today but why would Hegseth be at a football game. POTUS might be a figurehead who has time for a regular season game, but isn't the Defense Department starting multiple wars right now? Doesn't Pete have something else to do? Or is he also a figurehead with no real power?

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.
We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.
We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

This is not what they actually say. This is what they used to say, in the long ago before times when Shaheen learned to do politics. There is no kumbaya median voter anymore. The question you get knocking doors is not "why can't you all just work together?" it's "why didn't / will you fight harder?
Shaheen: "When I talk to my constituents in New Hampshire, you know what they say to me? They say, 'Why can't you all just work together to address the problems that are facing this country?'"

And so a new form of government was born. A system that required citizens to yell at a handful of mostly elderly politicians every few weeks, demanding them not to doom us all. A Screamocracy.

This is because Intuit, Inc. gave Donald Trump $1,000,000 for his "inauguration." Intuit owns Turbo Tax, which makes money off charging taxpayers to file their returns.

Oh crap. I did even know there was a "Patriot Awards". Now I have to go throw up again.
The only thing I care about in a president for 2028 is holding every one of these people accountable under the law in the harshest manner possible. Anything short of that is a waste of time.
At the Fox Patriot Awards tonight, Hegseth tells a story about how Trump makes Truth Social posts after bombings.

It's hard to imagine how people willingly become part of the cult & want to have a despot as their ruler--it always ends badly even if you are part of the "in" crowd.

Quick read linked in the description. That’s #Unherdables, like goats or cats, we don’t obey fascists. We vet. We follow back. Not because they want us to, but because we choose each other. All good people here.

The biggest story in the country right now should be Donald Trump admitting he has no idea who he's pardoning—and that he only pardoned a crypto fraudster because his sons told him to.
Could you imagine the reaction if Joe Biden admitted something like that?

Today’s politics may be confusing, but it’s clear that the Republican Party supports these 2 things:
1. Masked, armed men snatching people off the street because of the color of their skin.
2. The hiding of records to cover up for powerful people who rape children.
