"are you suggesting that I use it even though it's defective with a 3 inch band of dark picture?"

"is it usable or not?"

".....no"

"itsemimi" on Instagram draws Furbies and Furby-derivative creatures in a faux-VHS-on-cathode-ray-TV style, saying 90s-anime-esque lines, and it's.

Weirdly fascinating.

Hi!!! If you tried to donate to Hailey over the weekend and it didn't go thru, please try again. <3

Her funds were being frozen because she's in Brazil and there was some fuckery with the payment processor. But it should be okay now.

Anything you can afford is super massively appreciated!
Here's another #transcrowdfund:

Hailey Kaas is a brilliant writer, translator, educator and activist in Brazil, and one of my fav humans. She founded Brazil's first transfeminism website/collective.

Hailey's mom has cancer and she's had to quit working to take care of her:

"Why don't victims come forward?"

*meanwhile a volunteer crew of angry dudes starts combing through every aspect of the survivor's entire life to find "evidence" that could be used to discredit the allegations no matter how irrelevant*

If I had a nickel for every time the Seahawks won the Superbowl right before one of my grandparents dies, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happening twice.

Being an adult means being extremely excited that the tax return will cover the rest of you're used car loan. Which, sure, is not the highest interest rate that I am paying, but it IS the one where if everything went to shit they would repossess my car,so...

idk the last time i talked to someone who was on the 'but ai is the only way i can make an art, ai is democratizing art' bullshit, it only took like 2-3 responses to get them to admit that they don't want to actually make art, they just want to claim pretty pictures as their own

I also don't give two smelly shits about whether or not Liam's parents are here legally or not

But the fact that they are, that so many others snatched up and taken to gods know where, should inform people of the absolute evil of this white nationalism Nazi bullshit

Something I think a lot of people aren't clear on, Liam's parents have followed the legal process of claiming asylum. They are here LEGALLY.

Liam was being used to try to lure someone ELSE out of the house. He and his father were taken because that failed.

Now ... they seek revenge.

Here's the cover... keeping in mind you cannot nominate yourself for a lifetime achievement award nor can your publisher. Although, surprise, there are 2 winners every year and when I was a judge the World Fantasy committee secretly inflicted the 2nd on you and you were supposed to grin and bear it.

Ages ago, David Eddings had his publisher send us World Fantasy Award judges a cringy 16 page color pamphlet he'd clearly put together himself & then clumsily edited into third person about why he should win the lifetime achievement award, but also why his wife, who helped write the books should not
The topic of David Eddings came up at my table talk at Worldcon.

Half the folks around the table - a pretty heavily invested in genre group - didn't know.

And two of them didn't know about MZB.

On some level it's like, yeah, we're all living in omelas and bear some responsibility, but that doesn't mean that the person who specifically took the job of torturing the child is a good person.

b) I am also not reading that 96k unless paid. A Lot.
