The Hidden History of Trump’s First Trip to Moscow
In 1987, a young real estate developer traveled to the Soviet Union. The KGB almost certainly made the trip happen.

Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

Candy appears numerous times in the Epstein files over more than a decade, The National has uncovered.

This makes the post-9/11 NSA warrantless surveillance program look like digging through people's trash (which the FBI also did).

That caused such a backlash there was still congressional activity on it a decade later.

This is absolutely blood-chilling levels of state overreach and so far crickets.

The UK version of “Project 2025” by the Reform party includes a British ICE, a concentration camp for 24,000 people, mass surveillance and withdrawing from refugee, anti-torture and anti-trafficking conventions.

It’s on their website. That’s how comfortable fascists are in the UK today.

Johnny was one of the most entertaining people I've ever interviewed. Every line could have been a pull quote.

Among other things, he organised the first Rock Against Racism gig, but he had his young daughters that day. They sat at the side of the stage with crisps and fizzy pop as The Clash played
This has reminded me that I wanted to recommend John Cooper-Clarke's fantastic radio tribute to Johnny Green, who was road manager for The Clash and so much more, as the programme reveals...

"£6 TRILLION: Staggering cost of making Britons fat"

"£11 TRILLION: Staggering cost of wrecking the countryside"

"£1 TRILLION: Staggering cost of cleaning up Britain's rubbish"
The utterly shameless & widely covered "report" out today, claiming net zero will "cost" £9tn is based on:

* Assuming free fossil-fuel energy, free petrol cars, free gas boilers, free gas power plants etc

AND

* Including climate damages in the "cost" of net zero

I kid you not, it is that stupid
🧵A political/media guide to the "truth" about net-zero

1) Add up costs to install & run a net-zero energy system
2) Pretend fossil-fuelled alternatives wld be free
3) Do say "eco zealots are bankrupting us"
4) Don't say "free cars if we scrap net-zero" cos it sounds ridiculous
5) That's it!
