I have a real soft spot for that film. It bounces between high concept and nonsense scene to scene. At least it's a film of ideas, with not only Hurt but the excellent Blair Brown spouting off scientific dialogue with ease.

and in many places it was the only place to buy deep catalog items or imports. case in point, I worked at a record store that could only afford to stock a few 4ad imports. We had to price higher than Tower who had dozens in stock.
