It’s very simple. Genuinely very simple. Until Section 230, it was the case that any website that allowed a user to publish any content of any kind could be sued if they said *anything* libelous or bad. That includes web hosts, blogging platforms, social media etc.

As a rule of thumb, I'm inherently distrustful of any take that presupposes one specific thing that art is "for". Art need not justify its existence, its existence is its justification.
I 100% agree with the sentiment of "some art is meant to make you uncomfortable, the fact that you feel discomfort is not a strike against a movie."
But also when people take it to "you probably enjoy animated films intended for families" as an insult, you've lost me.

the problem with modern videogame rpgs is they don't have quests like the one in phantasy star, where you need to bribe a governor with cake, but the only cake shop in the entire solar system is on a different planet, at the bottom of a four-floor dungeon, behind a locked door.

If a fictional race that's capable of flight also has flying vehicles, and you have to ask "why do they need those if they can fly?", I may have to consider you a liability to our species.
