On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

this Pennsylvania mail-in ballot issue will never ever die 🙃
BREAKING: The RNC asks SCOTUS to uphold a Pennsylvania law that would disqualify undated and wrongly dated mail-in ballots in the state.

The move comes after the 3rd Circuit ruled last year that the measure violates the Constitution, and rejected Republicans’ request for a full circuit rehearing.

this is a good thread. I think the PG brand can die, and the Blocks can get lost. Pittsburgh deserves better. On to the next thing.
I have to say this first: if Acklin is frustrated after a few weeks of dealing with these folks, imagine what it was like for a union that spent YEARS trying to negotiate a contract with them. This story is a wake-up call for anyone who chalked up all the problems there to *union* intransigence.

Bad Bunny’s performance began in the plantation, featured broken electric poles, and ended by centering a hemispheric understanding of “América”—among many other things—and some Anglo journalists are like “his performance wasn’t political.”

This is why we need to be telling our stories.
