They usually build fences to stop the wildlife wandering on to get hurt but this lot must have found a way around the barrier - sorry to hear that they would be hurt where you are :(

you have never been driving on Perth roads, the average gap between the cars at the first rain after summer is around 10cm - Perth drivers are notoriously bad

I once had to extricate a baby opossum from the plastic rings used to hold bottles or cans together.
