The whistle plates are feeling temperamental in this unexpected Alabama freeze, so instead of the cracking videos, enjoy 40 seconds of pretty colored whistles falling from the sky. 😂

174,765 shipped since mid December. ❤️

Was hanging out with friends in a voice call

Someone started sharing memes and then the floodgates opened and next thing I knew it was an hour later and my entire torso was sore from laughing so much

I needed that, but I will definitely be all kinds of sore in odd ways tomorrow

This is such an excellent example of the kind of energy that helps holds the darkness at bay for a little while
Feels like society’s really broken down in the US in a way that’s deeply traumatic.

But also there are college students knocking on doors asking for shovels (they’re not well-prepared) and helping trapped motorists by shoveling and pushing out cars. Up to 24 of them now, wandering streets together

Curled up and cozy as this 'Snowpocalypse' envelops Pittsburgh

It's the perfect day to sip a warm drink while implementing one of the last rounds of feedback/edit notes for Book 1

Also, I finally 100% sorted funds for my cover art, so I can get that ball back in motion again!

We love a responsive doc!

He okayed stopping the minoxidil and is swapping me to clonidine!

(Notably, clonidine is a mast cell stabilizer and should also play nice alongside ADHD meds etc.)
Insurance refuses to be bullied about the Zepbound XP

And I haven't seen any indication that doc has tried writing a script for a PDL GLP-1 option

So I took my first minoxidil dose last night, and I'm already like 95% sure this med is gonna be a fail due to it setting off MCAS rxns
Back on my bullshit (bullying insurance)

Doc prescribed Zepbound as my GLP-1, which is not on the preferred drugs list (PDL), so we're gonna try to force through a prior auth on one from the PDL

Hopefully we can yet this all resolved such that I can pick it all up with my other Rx'es next week :P

Turns out failing off a med is doing wonders for today's productivity XP

(I 100% understand why; brain decided to try and ignore the MCAS rxn and other strange/unhappy sensations by picking a dozen little action items and powering through them)

Insurance has now called me twice, oh so helpfully telling me my Prior Auth has been denied, without ever indicating which thing was, y'know, denied :P

Anywho, heading home tomorrow, then I get to go on the documentation warpath and bludgeon insurance assholes with a plurality of large trout

The quoted interaction reminds me of this Xkcd comic in the best kind of way

Congrats on being one of the lucky ones! And thank you to *everyone* who writes solid alt text!

So I got a pregnancy pillow last year for sleeping support to ease many pains

It's mostly been quite successful

However

My two cattos have decided during this winter weather spell that the space between the pillow and my body makes for a top-tier cat bed

My brain loves this, but my body is ow

today my therapist was talking about how adhd and ptsd can set each other off because it’s harder to regulate trauma responses when you’re already disregulated because you’ve forgotten to eat or drink all day so like idk who else needs to hear this but go drink a glass of water

Time to go poke my doc again about switching the GLP-1 script from Zepbound to something from the PDL

Then moar fixing the start of book 2 (I've edited ~13.5k of 22.5k words, more on that in a sec)

Oooooh, pharmacy notifications indicate the cromolyn prior auth made it through <.<

So two to go, GLP-1 and T (I honestly think what's most likely with the GLP-1 is they reject the one my doc prescribed and make me trial a different one first, but so long as one gets covered I'm not too fussy)

Well my bet (option 1) was wrong

Option 3 won!

Y'know, the BP med that is in no way a first-line pick :P

Anywho, I've armed my doc with more documentation, and am aggregating literature (largely compiled by @rahaeli.bsky.social) to bludgeon insurance with when they reject the PA reqs

So I guess start the betting pool for which one of these four made it:
1. GLP-1 med
2. Low dose of T
3. BP med
4. Cromolyn nasal spray

Basically Jack Reacher has sex with The Law Enforcement Officer Du Livre as a break for the author exhausted by choreographing constant violence. Whereas a Regency duke has a full bare-knuckle boxing scene as a break for the author who really cannot think of one more synonym for penis.

My parents are starting to grasp the scope/extent of my dietary fuckeries as I attempt to sift through MCAS triggers and determine my sensitivity levels

(Dad's handling this better than mom is)

I also get to call my pharmacy tomorrow and see which 3 of the 4 new meds pinged as needing prior auths
