Days out from permanently relocating to Wisconsin - send me all your suggestions for best Wisconsin places. (Also, keep in mind I grew up in Wisconsin so I’m not a tourist.)

It’s only just turned the 4th day of February, and this has already been the longest month of my life.

I saw a post about Black History Month today and was all “that must be an old post because Black History month is February and that was months ago.”

It’s fine, everything’s fine, third base!

One day, that person will die, and they will go to wherever we go when we die. And hopefully, where we go is a place where you finally get to see yourself for EXACTLY who you are.

RIP Catherine O’Hara.

I love Bluesky because 99% of my interactions here are with people I want to interact with and who I genuinely like, and their responses are either kind or my kind of snarky.

I was just on that Yarn platform and ngl I kind of like it for being so unhinged but WOWZA is it unhinged sometimes.

Well, that seems a little painfully on the nose.

Okay, so now that I’ve gone public about moving back to Wisconsin - I’ve got a list of stuff I want to do there that I couldn’t do before because I only ever came back for Christmas… but if you were me, what would you want to do in Wisconsin?

I am going to get banned from social media for this but please let that thing happen while I still live in New York City.

I also promise you it’s not shit.

(No, seriously, he writes so many good words together in the best ways.)
Reposting this again for new followers. I promise it's not shit.
I've removed the paywall permanently from this piece, which is a chapter from my novel Villager, told entirely in the form of an online village message board. If you like it, you'll probably like the book. If you don't, you won't... www.tom-cox.com/the-village-...

Just the fact that this headline says the White House’s social media posts “mirror” extremist rhetoric is bullshit. It doesn’t mirror it, it *IS* extremist rhetoric.

NYC has a lock museum. I never understood how interesting locks could be before I went there, and I totally recommend it.
My mistake. No calculator museum (not sure if I imagined that one or perhaps it closed down) but there is a postal museum.

So, first of all, hi hello, I am from here and I am educated in criminal justice and the U.S. Constitution, but kidnapping a head of state and dragging them to court in NYC right after a man you hate got elected as mayor… feels like y’all being a bitch.
January 3, 2026 at 7:36 PM
I have seen a lot of governmental shit in my time in my country but this shit is banana pants and WELCOME TO THE FALL OF ROME.

Admit it, y’all wanted to be there. The orgies, SO MUCH FOOD AND BOOZE, and look all aaaaaaallll the white dudes. Being terrible.
January 3, 2026 at 5:27 PM
I say again that I don’t usually watch these press conferences because I knew they were gross but WOW I obviously had no idea how gross MY OWN FUCKING GOVERNMENT could be.

This is like watching bad soft core porn. Like the first scene. It even has the same production values and camera angles.

Oh, Pete Hegseth. Talking like a video game character while killing actual people. If you need someone to speak in fascist cliches, Pete’s your guy!!
January 3, 2026 at 5:03 PM
I don’t generally watch his press conferences but I am watching this and I can’t tell you how fucking embarrassed I feel listening to this guy speaking as my country’s president.

This better be some alt universe and there’s a version of me that’s living my best life because WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.

January 2nd is apparently National Buffet Day. Just passing that along for my fellow eaters.

Happy Discovering There’s An Unused City Hall Station Stop On The NYC Subway Day to all who celebrate!

I just saw a governor of New York and a mayor of New York greeting each other with what appeared to be semi-genuine agreeableness and I think we might need to check on the space-time continuum because Eddie might be in it. #IYKYK
