Detangling my sense of self worth from productivity & outcome was the best thing I have done for myself.

It is a lot of work. A lot of self correction when your mind starts to wander down the old paths. You have to rewire it.

Changing my perspective to view things w/ curiosity was key.

the fastest way to kill motivation is to make your identity depend on the outcome. it's called ego involvement. when failing becomes failing as a person, your brain starts avoiding the whole thing. not because you don't care, but because you care too much.

you don't need lower standards. you need less self-worth tangled up in your goals. the work gets easier when it's not about proving who you are.

Currently I think the idea people who want a civil war 2 have is a war they can turn off when they want to. They want to play call of duty irl for a few hours and then go home to their normal lives, with a house that has food and isn't in danger of being shelled. Not a real war.
